Chapter 8🦋

E T H A N

I went up into my room.

I saw Alex standing in the hallway crying and froze where I was standing. She looked up at me and whispered something that sounded like sorry and moved out of the way. I went into my room and sat down on my bed. Thinking about everything.

L E X I

I walked home and tried to open the door but it was locked. I knocked and rang the doorbell but nothing. There were people inside, I could see shadows moving through the windows but no one opened the door. I knocked harder and louder but nothing. I pressed the doorbell and still nothing.

What a bunch of idiots.

I sat on the floor and waited for someone to open the door.

No one came.

"Lexi?" I heard someone whisper.

I woke up and yawned. I was so cold, my hands were shaking. It was dark and I checked the time on my watch and saw it was 10:37.
I couldn't believe it. They really just left me out here in the cold.

"Lexi!" The voice said again. I looked up and saw Sam standing in the doorway.

"What?" I answered.

"Why are you just laying on the floor? Why didn't you come home?" He asked.

"Well the reason I am out here freezing on the floor outside is because none of you idiots let me into the house." I said pushing past him and going up into my room. I locked the door and took a shower. Grateful for hot water. Once I got out I could hear shouting downstairs and it sounded like Sam was doing a lot of the shouting. I sat down on my bed and eventually fell asleep.

I woke up early and got ready. Everyone was still asleep but I went down and made my own breakfast and left. There was still forty five minutes left till school started but the library was always open early in the morning. I went to school and saw one or two people coming into school at the same time. The library was half full and I sat down and read my book until lessons started.

"Hey Lexi can I sit there?" A voice said.

I looked up and saw Sam. His hair was messy and sticking up everywhere. He looked a mess and had a bruise on his right cheek.

"Sure sit down." I said but as he sat down I got up and moved to a different chair.

"Lexi." He said looking up at me.

"Sam." I said looking back at him.

"Look I didn't know okay. If I did I would've let you in, I swear I would!" He said sadly. His eyes where red and puffy.

"Oh so you didn't hear me knock and ring the very loud doorbell multiple times?" I asked frowning at him.

"I was in the shower! Didn't you hear me yelling at Ethan and the others after I let you in." He said sighing softly.

Sam had been the one to let me in. Did he really not know I was out there freezing? I sat down next to him.

"So what happened to your face?"

"Nothing."

"Really nothing just left a bruise on your face."

"Yep."

"Sam."

"Lexi."

"Just tell me."

"No."

"Why not."

"Not now. I'll tell you later."

"Fine."

The bell went and I packed up my things and left.

I started to go to my first lesson, Maths. I saw Jayden in the hallway and we locked eyes. I frowned and he looked guilty. I walked past him and carried on trying to find my class.
Then I saw Freddie. We haven't spoken much but I know him and Blayke are close.

"Lexi-"

I walked past him. Why is my maths class so far! I saw Jack and Blayke and literally ran past. Then I saw it. My maths room. I have never been happier to see it. I felt a hand pull my arm back and turned around. Ethan stood there looking guilty.

"Look Alex I'm-"

"Get off!" I yelled yanking my arm out of his grip and going into my lesson.
