The day of our last baseball game was a blazing day.
It was probably one of the hottest days we had encountered in our season so far, but we would not let the heat stop us from that sectional championship title
As we warmed up in the field, in the insanely humid weather. We could see the other teams bus pull up onto the schools campus. They looked incredibly confident as they walked off the bus in their maroon uniforms.
About an hour later, both of our teams had warmed up, we were five minutes away from starting the game and my whole team was now getting anxious.
"Come on guys this is the last game of the season! the championship title is ours" I tried to give my best peptalk to the my teammates
"Hemmings is right, you boys go out there and kick some ass!" my coach yelled at us and then it was time for the game.

It was finally the ninth inning and I didn't know how much longer my team could stand this insane heat. Yet despite the heat my team was doing surprisingly well, it seems like one of those sports movies. Where the game is all tied up in the ninth inning and needed some type of miracle to pull off a win.
The fans in the crowd were going absolutely crazy, almost everyone from my school came to watch. I was sweating bullets up there in the pitchers mound. Knowing that my family, Aurora and surprisingly her parents were there watching
Thankfully, by the love of God, I struck out there last batter and stopped them from getting any runs. No it was all down my team all we needed was one run.
The whole team is panting as we jogged back to the dugout and then our first batter went up to the plate. As I watch Jai walk up to the plate I knew just how nervous he was, feeling that the whole game at that moment was riding on him and In a way it kind of was.
He only made it to first base
Ashton was the catcher he usually didn't hit that much but in this game he did. He was completely freaking out his hands were shaking as he clutched on to the bat. Before you walked out I slapped him in the back and I told him the four words that I knew he needed to hear
"you can do this" I told him, he gave me one last nod at me and then walked up to the plate.
He had missed the first pitch and then hit the second one into foul territory. Then finally the next pitch his bat met the ball with a exuberant crack. I was surprised he didn't bash the lacings off the ball.
For one brief second I thought to myself that I had never seen ashton run so fast. The next thing we knew Jai was rounding third with Ashton right on his heels. The whole crowd roaring in the stands and when they finally touched Homeplate all hell broke loose.
My entire team including me ran out into the field in tackled Jai and Ashton in a celebratory fashion. All we had worked for has finally happened we had claimed the championship title.

After most of us had lost our voices screaming and cheering we went and changed. Holding up the trophy the whole way into the locker room.
When I stepped outside in my regular clothes I was greeted by my beautiful girlfriend wrapping me in a hug. I was so happy I spun her around in the air a goofy grin still on my face.
"You did it!" Aurora exclaimed Happily
All I could do was smile and nod my head as I saw my mum, dad and little brother walking towards us. Both my parents hugged me and congratulated me and Ben had pointed out the shirt he was wearing, which read 'my brother is The pitcher'. I ruffled my brothers hair and fix the hat on top of his head as my brother looked at me as if I made him the proudest brother on earth.
