Scorpius

The next weeks went by in a rush. I loved the Weasley/Potterfamily around me and couldn't imagine being so happy before.

But, as always, holidays end and way sooner than I liked we were leaving the Burrow again.

"See you next time Scorpius!" Molly Weasley says as she gives me a warm and welcoming hug.

"I hope so, Mrs. Weasley," I grin and I shake her husband's hand.

"Lily has chosen a very good boy," he says "You're perfect for her." he adds with a wink.

"Thank you, Mr. Weasley."

"Have fun at Hogwarts!" Hermione Granger shouts to me after she has kissed her daughter goodbye.

"Fun?" Ronald Weasley says raising his eyebrows and rolling his eyes. "I doubt it, but good luck anyway, Scorpius."

"Thank you," I say once again, heaving my trunk into the snow outside.

I never expected such warmth from my father's enemies, but as time passed I realised that my dad was simply holding on to the idea that they were his enemies.

Are.

Were.

"Coming?" her soft voice wakes me up from my wandering thoughts.

I look at her, how she stands there, surrounded by snow. Her blue and silver scarf being draped across her shoulders, her hair seems to be set alight by the sun peeping through the grey clouds and her emerald eyes twinkle and reflect the bright snow.

I walk up to her, dragging the trunk behind me, and just as I reach for her hand I quickly kiss her on the cheek. Theyâre warm, and the blush caused by the snow seems to become even brighter.

She laughs and takes my hand before walking further towards an old Ford Anglia.

"We're going to King's Cross by that?" I ask.

"Uh-huh," she smirks, enjoying the idea that she knows something better than me.

"Wait," I say, recalling some rant Filch gave me one day for getting way too close to the Whomping Willow, young man! It's almost like you want to be as good as that Weasley and Potter coming to school in a flying Ford Anglia! Ridiculous!

"Are you sure this will work Ginny?" Harry Potter asks.

"Come on, Harry, you know how my dad is. And by the way: I repaired it. So it must be okay."

"That's what she said," I smirk, heaving first mine and then Lily's trunk into the boot.

"You're such a gentleman," Ginny Weasley sighs, causing James and Albus to exchange annoyed looks.

I feel the corners of my mouth raising. It's good to hear that your girlfriend's mother has officially accepted you.

"Get in, Mr Gentleman," Lily says as she opens one of the doors.

"Ladies first," I say, gesturing her to get in.

"No, you first."

"No, you first."

"Get in Scorpius or my toes will freeze off."

"It is my pleasure."

"To let my toes freeze off?"

"I'll get in!" I say quickly before she wants to push me into the car.

During the trip to the train station Lily lay with her head on my shoulder and eventually dozed off.
