Lily
Two weeks later the big day is finally here. And with the big day I mean the day that I’ll leave Hogwarts for the Supera Itinera. Which is exciting. And scary as hell.
I’m dragging my (magically enlarged) suitcase down the winding stairs in the Ravenclaw tower, that is to say, I’m practically trying to hold onto it as it pulls me downwards. Great idea to pack so many clothes Lily.
It’s still early, and through a small window I can see a light grey mist like a silver veil hiding the grounds of Hogwarts. The sky behind the mountains – oh well, I don’t know if I should classify them as ‘big hills’ or ‘small mountains’ but either will do – is already turning a slight pink, announcing the fast approaching dawn.
By the time I’ve reached the fifth floor I can hear the light footsteps of someone behind me. I quickly turn around and my face lights up.
“Lis!”
“Lily!” she runs towards me and gives me a hug. “I thought you were gone already!”
“Good thing I’m not,” I laugh. “Thanks for already being up at this hour for me.”
I said goodbye to everyone yesterday, so I thought I wouldn’t be seeing anyone today apart from some teachers, ghosts and my fellow participants.
“You’re my best friend! I wouldn’t just let you leave like this,” Lis laughs and only now I see she’s holding something behind her back. She notices that I’m looking at her hands behind her back and she grins sheepily.
“So… since I thought you’d be away for quite a while without any sweet shops near you… I brought you this.”
She shows the bag and I try my best not to start dancing. “It’s all your favourite sweets from Honeydukes, including loads of chocolate.”
I take it from her hands and put it down on the ground before giving her another hug. “I’m going to miss you so much, Lis!”
“You better do,” she laughs. “Anyway… good luck with the tournament! And… yeah… just… take care of yourself. I know Scorpius will treat you like a goddess – oh come on, Lily, don’t deny it – but just… be safe, okay?”
“Of course I’ll be,” I smile. “Have fun with Gustav.”
I wiggle my eyebrows and laugh. Lis has had a lot of innocent dates with him already, most of them being just after dinner and walking on the Hogwarts grounds. It’s really cute. I ship them. A lot.
Lis blushes slightly but laughs as well. “Have fun with Scorpius.” She wiggles her eyebrows in response.
“Did someone say my name?” my heart jumps and I feel my palms becoming sweaty already. Why does he have this effect on me…
Lis just wiggles her eyebrows more at me and smiles, blowing me a kiss and disappearing up the spiral staircase again.
“Hey Lil” is all Scorpius says before he puts his arms around my waist and pulls me towards him, his muscled chest rising and falling with each breath against my back. I feel my heart beating loudly and I wonder if he hasn’t heard it yet.
“Morning,” he whispers in my ear, his warm breath tickling my skin.
“Morning,” I reply with a huge smile. I turn around in his arms and look into his eyes.
“Big day, huh?”
"Just as big as your ego."
He laughs, a twinkling appearing in the seagrey depths of his irises. "How come you're so sassy in the morning?"
"I... I don't know," I mumble, including my brothers in my hypothesis about morning mood.
He just grins at me all the way through my scientific report on me being sassy in the morning. "You're great," he says at the end of my monologue. "You're the greatest person at Hogwarts, Lil."
I feel my cheeks heaten and take his hand as we walk down towards the Hogwarts Express, which will take us to the secret location. Sounds cool, right?
~~~
Half an hour later I am lying with my head in Scorpius' lap, reading The Fellowship of the Ring - yes, he convinced me - while he's staring through the window at the passing Scottish hills.
Or at least, I thought he was looking that way.
I am just reading how Sam and Frodo meet elves on their way to Crickhollow when a low whisper makes me return to this world.
"Did you know there's a small crease on your forehead when you're reading?"
"Hmm?" I reply, looking up and drowning in Scorpius' mesmerising eyes.
"Right...-" he lies his right index finger on my forehead, just above the beginning of my nose "-there."
His fingertip feels hot on my skin and I can't help but wonder about how soft it is.
"I didn't," is all I manage to reply to him.
He moves his finger to the left, following the curve of my eyebrow and when it arrives on my temple he smiles.
"You're cute, Lily Potter."
I blush and close the book before I lay it down next to me.
"Yup. You're cute..."
A few hours and a lot of stolen kisses later, we arrive at an old but much smaller castle, surrounded by green hills, but lower ones than those around Hogwarts.
"Welcome, Hogwarts participants!" a man in a long, purple robe greets us as we hop off the train. "Welcome to the Supera Itinera!"
Scorpius squeezes my hand softly.
