"W̸͟͞e̸͟͞l̸͟͞c̸͟͞o̸͟͞m̸͟͞e̸͟͞ b̸͟͞a̸͟͞c̸͟͞k̸͟͞ M̸͟͞e̸͟͞l̸͟͞, h̸͟͞o̸͟͞w̸͟͞ w̸͟͞a̸͟͞s̸͟͞ s̸͟͞c̸͟͞h̸͟͞o̸͟͞o̸͟͞l̸͟͞? W̸͟͞a̸͟͞s̸͟͞ i̸͟͞t̸͟͞ a̸͟͞n̸͟͞y̸͟͞ b̸͟͞e̸͟͞t̸͟͞t̸͟͞e̸͟͞r̸͟͞ t̸͟͞h̸͟͞a̸͟͞n̸͟͞ y̸͟͞e̸͟͞s̸͟͞t̸͟͞e̸͟͞r̸͟͞d̸͟͞a̸͟͞y̸͟͞?" The creature asked, its voice like static to my eyes.
Without looking at him I hummed in response, It was the same as yesterday. Insufferable as always. I don't know why you keep asking, it'll always be the same. I finally turned to look at it, or well, him.
He like a normal human, except for the heavy aura of darkness surrounding him, hinted with blood red. With long black horns on the sides of his head, and a playful, jagged smile on his face. A skinny, whip like tail swaying behind him. His jagged claws gripped the side of the desk. His hollowed eyes stared straight into my soul, as if trying to suck the life out of me.
"Y̸͟͞o̸͟͞u̸͟͞ k̸͟͞n̸͟͞o̸͟͞w̸͟͞ y̸͟͞o̸͟͞u̸͟͞ c̸͟͞o̸͟͞u̸͟͞l̸͟͞d̸͟͞ t̸͟͞a̸͟͞k̸͟͞e̸͟͞ m̸͟͞y̸͟͞ o̸͟͞f̸͟͞f̸͟͞e̸͟͞r̸͟͞. The creature stated, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
For the last time Shadow, I'm not going to ever take your offer. I'm not going to take the easy way out this, after all... just a one and a half more years left. I can wait. I thought back, shouting at him.
"F̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞e̸͟͞ t̸͟͞h̸͟͞e̸͟͞n̸͟͞, I̸͟͞ r̸͟͞e̸͟͞c̸͟͞o̸͟͞m̸͟͞m̸͟͞e̸͟͞n̸͟͞d̸͟͞ m̸͟͞a̸͟͞k̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞g̸͟͞ d̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞n̸͟͞e̸͟͞r̸͟͞ s̸͟͞o̸͟͞o̸͟͞n̸͟͞. I thanked Shadow with a pet on his head before running down to the kitchen.
I hurriedly made pasta, trying my best to make sure it was okay to eat. This should at least stop him from hurting me too badly. I thought to myself as I set two plates for us at the dinner table filled with pasta. I sighed in relief when "father" didn't wake up. I slumped against the wall, calming my beating heart. I took breaths of relief and closed my eyes.
Pain. Pain shot through my whole arm as I clutched it tightly with my left arm. I stared down at the puddle of blood forming beneath me. I took deep breaths, steadying myself. Blood blinded my vision as I struggled to get up. Heavily breathing I walked slowly to my room, leaning against the walls for support. Blood dripping from my wounds, making a trail behind me.
I did my best to make sure the blood didn't fall on the carpet the floors, else he'll not only give me an broken arm. I opened the door to my room, walking in and closing the door behind me. I turned around and froze. A horrifying creature stood in front of me, leaning on the wall behind it. It's hollow eyes stared at me, filled with hunger.
I nearly screamed at the sight of it, but instead coughed on my own blood. "W̸͟͞e̸͟͞l̸͟͞l̸͟͞ h̸͟͞e̸͟͞l̸͟͞l̸͟͞o̸͟͞ M̸͟͞e̸͟͞l̸͟͞o̸͟͞d̸͟͞y̸͟͞, I̸͟͞'v̸͟͞e̸͟͞ b̸͟͞e̸͟͞e̸͟͞n̸͟͞ w̸͟͞a̸͟͞i̸͟͞t̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞g̸͟͞ f̸͟͞o̸͟͞r̸͟͞ y̸͟͞o̸͟͞u̸͟͞." It rasped. I held onto the doorknob as the creature took a step closer to me.
"D̸͟͞o̸͟͞n̸͟͞'t̸͟͞ b̸͟͞e̸͟͞ s̸͟͞c̸͟͞a̸͟͞r̸͟͞e̸͟͞d̸͟͞, I̸͟͞ w̸͟͞o̸͟͞n̸͟͞'t̸͟͞ h̸͟͞u̸͟͞r̸͟͞t̸͟͞ y̸͟͞o̸͟͞u̸͟͞." It said with an almost childlike voice.
I opened my eyes just before my "father" woke up.
