I surprisingly only had to stay at the hospital for a few days. The police still haven't found John so I guess I'm stuck with Mrs. King. Not that I'm mad or anything, I just wish I could stay there forever. They left my house untouched, hoping that John might come back. But he isn't that stupid.

As for Shadow, he eventually showed up. He reverted back to his normal self and wouldn't tell me a thing. I tried questioning him many times, but for some reason he acts as if nothing happened. I simply dropped and continued with life.

The police came to Mrs. King's house many times to check on me, making sure John wasn't stalking me or anything. Life went on like this for a few days, that is until I decided to check my house.

Stupid of me to do, but I just can't shake off this feeling. I know John is still there, I just know it. For some reason the police can't find him, but I know that I will. Of course, in order for me to even get into my house, I'll have to sneak out. See where this is going? Pretty cliche if you ask me. Well anyway, Shadow even agreed to go with me. Of course I was suspicious of him, but I let him come anyway 'cause at least he'll be able to watch my back.

I stayed up all night, waiting for the perfect moment to leave. Shadow impatiently waited at the window, slowly opening and closing it, trying to make as little sound as possible. I sat on the bed, tying the blanket and the curtains together to make a long rope. I puked in it a couple of times, making sure that it wouldn't break on me.

"C̸͟͞a̸͟͞n̸͟͞ w̸͟͞e̸͟͞ g̸͟͞o̸͟͞ a̸͟͞l̸͟͞r̸͟͞e̸͟͞a̸͟͞d̸͟͞y̸͟͞? I̸͟͞t̸͟͞'s̸͟͞ a̸͟͞l̸͟͞r̸͟͞e̸͟͞a̸͟͞d̸͟͞y̸͟͞ t̸͟͞h̸͟͞r̸͟͞e̸͟͞e̸͟͞ i̸͟͞n̸͟͞ t̸͟͞h̸͟͞e̸͟͞ m̸͟͞o̸͟͞r̸͟͞n̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞g̸͟͞ a̸͟͞n̸͟͞d̸͟͞ p̸͟͞l̸͟͞u̸͟͞s̸͟͞ i̸͟͞t̸͟͞'s̸͟͞ l̸͟͞i̸͟͞k̸͟͞e̸͟͞ a̸͟͞ t̸͟͞h̸͟͞i̸͟͞r̸͟͞t̸͟͞y̸͟͞ m̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞u̸͟͞t̸͟͞e̸͟͞ w̸͟͞a̸͟͞l̸͟͞k̸͟͞ f̸͟͞r̸͟͞o̸͟͞m̸͟͞ h̸͟͞e̸͟͞r̸͟͞e̸͟͞ t̸͟͞o̸͟͞ t̸͟͞h̸͟͞e̸͟͞r̸͟͞e̸͟͞." Shadow whined, opening the window.

Yes, just stop whining! Now help me tie this to something sturdy, liiiike the bedpost. I told him as I carefully got off the bed. He grumbled as he walked towards me and tied the makeshift rope to the bedpost.

"O̸͟͞k̸͟͞a̸͟͞y̸͟͞, l̸͟͞e̸͟͞t̸͟͞'s̸͟͞ g̸͟͞o̸͟͞ n̸͟͞o̸͟͞w̸͟͞! I̸͟͞'v̸͟͞e̸͟͞ b̸͟͞e̸͟͞e̸͟͞n̸͟͞ w̸͟͞a̸͟͞n̸͟͞t̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞g̸͟͞ t̸͟͞o̸͟͞ b̸͟͞e̸͟͞a̸͟͞t̸͟͞ J̸͟͞o̸͟͞h̸͟͞n̸͟͞ t̸͟͞o̸͟͞ a̸͟͞ b̸͟͞l̸͟͞o̸͟͞o̸͟͞d̸͟͞y̸͟͞ p̸͟͞u̸͟͞l̸͟͞p̸͟͞ f̸͟͞o̸͟͞r̸͟͞ a̸͟͞ w̸͟͞h̸͟͞i̸͟͞l̸͟͞e̸͟͞ n̸͟͞o̸͟͞w̸͟͞!" He said a little too enthusiastically.

I rolled my eyes as I said, Sorry Sha, sadly you can't beat him to a bloody pulp 'cause I want him to suffer in prison and we don't want the police to get suspicious that a 5'7 girl is able to beat up a 6'6 man. Shadow let out a whining noise but nodded.

"F̸͟͞i̸͟͞n̸͟͞e̸͟͞ I̸͟͞ w̸͟͞o̸͟͞n̸͟͞'t̸͟͞ b̸͟͞e̸͟͞a̸͟͞t̸͟͞ h̸͟͞i̸͟͞m̸͟͞ t̸͟͞o̸͟͞ a̸͟͞ p̸͟͞u̸͟͞l̸͟͞p̸͟͞ o̸͟͞r̸͟͞ h̸͟͞u̸͟͞r̸͟͞t̸͟͞ h̸͟͞i̸͟͞m̸͟͞ i̸͟͞n̸͟͞ a̸͟͞n̸͟͞y̸͟͞w̸͟͞a̸͟͞y̸͟͞. G̸͟͞o̸͟͞s̸͟͞h̸͟͞ y̸͟͞o̸͟͞u̸͟͞'r̸͟͞e̸͟͞ t̸͟͞o̸͟͞o̸͟͞ s̸͟͞e̸͟͞n̸͟͞s̸͟͞i̸͟͞t̸͟͞i̸͟͞v̸͟͞e̸͟͞ s̸͟͞o̸͟͞m̸͟͞e̸͟͞t̸͟͞i̸͟͞m̸͟͞e̸͟͞s̸͟͞." Shadow said as he jumped out the window. Startled, I ran to the window and looked down. I sighed in relief when I saw that Shadow was perfectly fine.

I'm an idiot, Shadow is a demon! How could I forget. I mentally facepalmed at my forgetfulness and grabbed onto the rope. I stuck my legs out the window and held the rope tightly. Just as I was about to climb down the rope, the door to my room opened, illuminating the room.

Like a deer in headlights, I froze and turned my head slowly. "Heeeeyyy Em, David. Whaaat're you doing so early in the morning." I said whispered sheepishly as I stared at their somewhat tired faces.

"What are you doing so early in the morning Mel?" David asked, crossing his arms.

"Oh me, I'm just sitting here, feeling the breeze you know? Anyway, why don't you go to bed! Like you said it's pretty early, I'm going to go back to bed." I said getting off of the window and going to them, pushing them out of the room. I tried to close the door, but David stuck his foot in the way.

"Don't play dumb with us Mel." Em said as David opened the door.

"Fine, I guess I have no choice but to tell you guys." I sighed as I let them into the room. "Well anyway I have this weird feeling to go back to my old house and we'll I decided that I'm going to go tonight. I didn't want to tell you 'cause this is something I want to deal with myself. You don't have–"

"We're coming with you."

"Wait what?!"
