I walk towards the Gilbert's House and find Caroline and Tyler on the porch about to head in. A laptop is in Care's hand while Lockwood holds a large object wrapped up in a blanket. Approaching them, I squint at the mysterious object in Lockwood's hands. "Is that the hunter's sword?"

He nods, a frown on his face. My brows furrow as I glance from him to Care confused. "Elena and the gang need to translate Jeremy's tattoo, so we have this," she gestures to the sword with her laptop.

Although she answers some of my questions, I'm still lost. "I thought the Professor already knew everything. Why do they need a translation now?"

Care shifts her weight as her eyes fall to the ground. Lockwood clears his throat. "He does, but he kidnapped Bonnie and disappeared."

"Ohhhh," I drag out. Figuring I have nothing to lose since this situation is already uncomfortable, I peek at Caroline. "You sure you're good to go in there? To deal with him?"

She bites her lip and nods in response. Taking this as our cue, Caroline and Lockwood open the door, stepping inside. I follow.

"Well, if it isn't little orphan Lockwood. Come to show how laughably impotent you are against me?" Klaus taunts Lockwood as he's sat upon the coffee table in the Gilbert's living room. Caroline takes a seat across from Klaus and noticeably far away from the invisible barrier between us and him.

Lockwood steps up to him, "I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure." He pulls the sword out of the blanket to show Klaus. "Found this in your attic."

"And you think finding the sword brings you closer to the cure?" Klaus asks, amused.

"You tell me. I was playing around with the handle on the ride over... and I found this," Lockwood replies, pulling a cover off the hilt of the sword.

Klaus's expression remains stoic, "And what do you think this is?"

"It's called a cryptex," Caroline speaks up, standing up from the couch. I shoot her a confused look in which she exclaims, "I've seen The Da Vinci Code." I shrug as she continues. "You turn the different sides to the different symbols to get the translation on the other side. And, with the magic of the Internet, Elena sent over these," she says holding up the pictures of Jeremy's tattoo. "So now all we have to do is cryptex away. If you happened to want to help, we wouldn't stop you."

I frown, crossing my arms over my chest, leaning back against the foyer archway near the door.

"Right," Klaus mutters, studying the cryptex. "Well, might I suggest using the magic of the Internet to purchase an Aramaic-to-English dictionary from your nearest retailer?"

"What's Aramaic?" Lockwood asks in confusion, glancing between Caroline and I. I sigh, walking over and taking a seat on the arm of the couch next to Care. "It's a dead language," I answer, "hasn't been used since biblical times."

"Qetsiyah's native tongue, I'm guessing," Klaus adds on. "You know, even if you had the best dictionary in the world, it could take days to translate...perhaps weeks." Klaus sighs dramatically, taking a seat on the coffee table once more. "In bas so-teen-too ara-ma-eet."

Care's brows furrow. "What does that mean?"

"If only you spoke Aramaic." Klaus smirks, prideful. I roll my eyes. His gaze shoots to mine and I hold it. He's so quick to flip the script. One moment he can be sweet and vulnerable like last night, and now? Now he's back to showing off. He's back to acting the part of an egotistical villain. It's times like these that make me question if anything I tell him ever actually has an effect upon him.
