I could sit and write a thousand lines
I could try to express what is in my mind
When I see that beautiful smile appear
Upon that face of yours I hold so dearI'll never give up, I'll fight tooth and nail
Even though I know I won't prevail
I don't want you to provide reprieve
I just want to know you believeThat when I say for you I'll die
That you know deep down it isn't a lie
So I'll sit, as my heart is being slowly choked
Praying that one day you'll see I hadn't jokedI don't ask you to abandon your heart
I don't want to be given a fresh start
I just want you to hear my cries
As these feelings I repeatedly surmiseI've known your soul for a millennia
Never have I wanted to get rid of you
I'll wait until my hairs turn gray
I'll wait til my eyes can't see the light of dayIf for some reason you never see fit
To provide space beside you in which to sit
Know that I can never truly be sad
Because you're the best friend I've ever had
