"Where the hell are you going to park a space shuttle?"
Shiro sighed, rubbing a hand across his scar. He paused, letting his fingers rest on the bridge of his nose.
"In the car park, Lance - where else?" He replied patiently, slight traces of sarcasm tainting his words - sarcasm that Lance had actually noticed, thank you very much.
So Lance smiled widely, tilting his head ever so slightly so he sat just inside Shiro's peripheral vision.
"Shiro," Lance said, doing his best to mimic the same exasperated sigh the older man had breathed before. "You may not have noticed, but we're about the size of the car park - also, sidenote; shouldn't it be called a shuttle park? Spaceship park?"
"Parking lot." Matt supplied, also leaning across.
"The point still stands, it's really small, and we're really big."
"Actually, that's only because it's really far away."
"Shut up Matt, you're blind." Lance huffed, turning to glare pointedly at Matt, flipping him the bird as he did so.
An action that was completely missed by said human, who was too busy picking at a strange stain on his sleeve to notice.
Lance kept his hand up for a few seconds, while Matt continued to mess with the stain. Lance rolled his eyes and lifted up his leg to readjust his brace. Shiro didn't say a word. Lance and then lifted his leg further to rest on Shiro's shoulder so he could hold it still. Shiro remained silent, entering the parking lot and slowly making his way through the rows to find an empty space.
"Hm?" Matt looked up, startled for a second. "Hey, my eyes are fine!"
Lance snickered at the delayed response, and Matt turned to look at him accusingly.
Only to stop, confusion written all over his face. "The hell are you doing." he said flatly.
Lance nearly snickered - from Matt's point of view, his position was probably reminiscent of a cat cleaning its lower areas. Instead, he leaned forward so his head was resting on his knee. "Readjusting my brace, squinty, what else?"
Matt rolled his eyes. "I told you, my eyes are fine." he said, and Lance shrugged one shoulder, not moving. "The Garrison fixed them before we left for Kerberos."
"First," Lance said, lazy grin making its way onto his face. "The fact that you have to bring that up is hilarious. Second, I distinctly remember you squinting at a screen like, my first day with the rebellion."
"That was because--"
"Ah, no, you don't get to say anything, I'm still talking." Lance butt back in, holding a finger up to shush Matt and dropping his leg back to the floor of the shuttle. "Third, I can practically hear you calling me a hypocrite."
"Wha--"
"I said no interruptions!"
"I'm just--"
"Shhh!"
"Saying--"
"Nope!"
"That I--"
"Stop it right there!"
"Don't know what you mean by that!" Matt shouted over the top of Lance.
"Kids, could you quiet down? I'm trying to find a parking space!"
Matt and Lance both turned to Shiro, matching shit-eating grins on their faces.
Shiro didn't even turn to them, instead breathing a very long-drawn out sigh.
