Chapter 26

I laughed with Lillian as Noah flirted with the waitress making her flush bright red and become a stuttering mess. Andrew was watching the spectacle from next to Noah with amused frustration. The waitress finally took our breakfast order and left on shaky feet, her ears bright red.

All us senior wolves left our juniors to sleep after the impromptu meeting and went to our respective homes to freshen up and meet at the Forks diner for breakfast.

The purpose for the meeting last night was to inform and so we didn't need to stay longer to make decisions and battle plans so we were able to leave at six am. It's now eight and the four of us are here.

Noah is a flirt by nature and it has helped him in flustering people and getting them to trust him. His two lovers sigh in exasperation at his antics and let him be. I just sit back and enjoy the show.

It was when we were enjoying our coffee after our meal that we got interrupted.

"Bella?"

I paused the cup that was at my lips and looked at the newcomer, the other three shifted to alert mode immediately but I remained calm as I recognized the scent.

I looked at the person and met the eyes of one Edward Cullen, with him were Jasper, Jared, Paul and Embry.

"Oh hey guys, what's up?" I asked surprised at seeing them. Mostly surprised at Jasper and Edward, I didn't know the diner provided live breakfast meals.

I noticed Jasper flitting his eyes between Noah, Lillian and Andrew and their annoyance. The others just looked to them curiously.

"Wow Bells, you're actually up at this hour? Is someone holding a gun at you under the table or something?" Embry asked causing everyone to laugh and I felt the tension at my table ease a bit.

I sent Embry a warm smile at his diffusing tactic and he sent me a wink in return.

"I'd say the same to you Em, I still remember the scar Jake had because he tried to wake you up last year," I countered and he grinned as the others laughed.

We talked a bit and I introduced the others.

"These are my friends from Beacon Hills; Noah Hawkins and Lillian Garret and that's Angela's older brother, Andrew."

Everyone said hi and and then goodbye as they left.

We drank our coffee quietly for a moment as we tuned our hearing with the Vamps and Wolves as they picked their orders for a pack breakfast and headed to the cars. It was when they were putting the things in the car that Edward finally asked Jasper what he noticed.

"Those guys, Noah and Andrew as well as Lillian have a connection between them," he replied

"Like an aura?" Edward stopped what he was doing and I bet he took a glance at us

"Like a bond, almost the same as the one I feel with vampire mates and imprints, but I've never seen it before with more than two people, or humans for that matter," Jasper said quietly.

"Maybe they're soulmates," Jared intoned

I smiled warmly at the mentioned three and a thread of warmth and affection filled their eyes as they looked at one another.

Ahhhh the atmosphere became all pink and fluffy at the table.

"I couldn't read their mind," Edward said

"Wasn't it the same with her other friends from Beacon Hills?" Paul asked, "Must be something in the water."

They all laughed and drove away. I'm glad that the Cullens are no longer as suspicious as they used to be when something new shows up. 

We finished breakfast and paid the check (after much arguing and finally Andrew won). We headed to drop me off at my house since I came with them.

"Fuck," Andrew and I said as we got a glimpse of the car in the drive way.

"What?" Lillian asked as Noah sat up and prepared for any action. But the threat wasn't something physical, it was verbal and emotional.

"That's my dad's car," Andrew said quietly as we parked.

I don't know what any of us would have said next but at that moment the door of my house opened and a fuming Reverend Weber exited and headed towards us, Charlie and Sue hot on his heels.

"Michael don't be hasty" Charlie said.

We all got out of the car immediately, so by the time Reverend Weber got to us we were waiting for him. I immediately took position in front of the three and steeled my expression.

Looks like this particular confrontation was going to happen after all.
