It had been over an hour since Rachel stormed out of the apartment. James was wondering if pissing her off that way was worth it.

She was, after all, his girlfriend, not to mention the first person who took James in after he was cast out of prison. It was just that she was crazy and he had not been in a relationship before hence his love for fooling around with other women. James decided he'd head over to Rachel's mother's place and apologize to her. He hoped he would not go back on his word.

He entered his Cooper and drove. When he arrived at the house, he saw a police car parked in front.

James grew nervous. He wondered if Rachel had done something. He'd take the chance. He parked his car across the street.

Rachel had sat in the sitting room. Another woman in a white sweatshirt, a baseball cap, blue jeans, and white sneakers lay on the floor. Rachel had a baton in her hand when she saw James enter.

"What the fuck brings you here?" she asked.

"I'm sorry babes. I didn't mean to offend you that way. I promise I won't fuck around like that again," James said.

"Yeah, well tell that to my fucking mother," Rachel said. "The bitch called the police. The woman down here is a cop. She said she was sent here because of a disturbance. The fuck is she doing coming here?"

James said, "Where's Colleen?"

"Downstairs, where I have her tied up. She's not making a fuss. I told her that I strangled the cop."

"She's not in uniform, Rachel," James pointed out.

"The bitch showed me her badge, so she was plain-clothed," Rachel said.

"You did a number on her," James said. "Why didn't you kill her instead?"

"I don't know," Rachel said. "She said she was a cop and when I looked outside and saw the police car I freaked out."

"Yeah, I can imagine," James said. "So, how did you it off, I mean with the baton?"

"Simple," Rachel said. "She had the baton on her, but I snatched it from her hand. She wasn't quick enough to react, so I whipped her across the back of her head. She should be out for some time."

"Hmm," James muttered. "Well, that's something."

"Okay, you can go then," Rachel said to James.

"Alright, I will be back," James said to Rachel before he kissed her. He exited the front door of Colleen Carter's house.

It would be the last time he would see Rachel just as he was approaching his car. That's when Fraser struck James from behind with the back of a pistol.

James fell to the ground. Fraser held both of James' arms and dragged himtowards his car. He placed James in the trunk and drove away.
