with our unfortunate luck, today was the day everybody celebrated the people who brought them into the world and loved them unconditionally. we were forced to come,seeing as it would look bad if we stayed in our rooms.

we argued with fg how it would be better since a lot of people still hate us so it might not be such a good idea.

of course, she didn't listen.

we had to dress up 'nicer' than usual so i threw on a button up and threw sweater over it.boys didn't dress differently than they usually do but girls did.evie as always picked a perfect outfit while mal got evie to dress her up since this is the first time mal will be meeting ben's parents,as a girlfriend of their son.

we,indubitably talked to our parents already.fg set up a video call earlier this week.

"children, excuse me."fg interupted our talk." um, as you know, uh, this sunday is family day here at auradon prep. and because your parents can't be here due to, uh, distance, we've arranged for a special treat."we all watched in confusion as she brought a tv stand to us.

suddenly 5 faces appeared on the screen.

"i don't see anything, nor do i hear."oh god no."

"is it... is it... is...""press enter."

great.they all are bunch of idiots and by the look on my mom's face she agrees with me.she was smirking so i take it she know how to get it work but she won't show them.

"can i please see a remote? is this thing on? ugh, it's broken. ugh! i hate electronic equip... oh!"

why did it have to work?

"evie, it's mommy."evil queen put her face close to the screen.

"oh! look how beautiful. oh, you know what they say, the poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree."she smirked at her while evie just smiled.

"don't you mean the weeds?"jafar asked her.

i rolled my eyes when maleficent asked.."ooh! who's the old bat?"

"this is fairy godmother."i said.fg smiled at me and i returned it.

"still doing tricks with eggplants?"maleficent teased fg.

"i turned a pumpkin into a beautiful carriage."she defended herself.

maleficent scoffed."you really couldn't give cinderella till one a.m.? i mean, really. what, the hamsters had to be back on their little wheels?"

fg looked at her in disbelief."they were mice! they were not... they were mice. they were not..."i nodded to her and said."thank you so much. thank you."

"they were mice."she said once again but with calmer voice.

"hi, mom."

"mal! i m-m-miss you."uh-hh,learn how not to stutter first.

"you children are never far from our thoughts."

we all started at them,not saying anyting.i think that neither fg bought it.

"we get it."i said ,annoyed.they stopped immediately.

"how long must mommy wait to see you?"

"um, there's a big coronation coming up. i think sometime probably after..."mal looked at me for confirmation.

"after that."i confirmed.

"when?"maleficent looked between me and mal.

"friday, 10 a.m."i told her."you sure i can't see you before that? i don't know what i'll do if i don't get my hands on that magic wan... you... you little nugget that i love so much."

my mom started to laugh uncontrollably while i put my fist over my mouth so they didn't see me laugh.

"yes, i completely understand, mother."mal said with her eyes screwed shut out of embarrassment.

i flinched back when only cruella's face showed on the screen.

gosh she could really use some spa treatment and hair shampoo.

"carlos, is that a dog? oh, yes, yes, baby, i do understand. it would make the perfect size for earmuffs."and psychologist preferably.

"he's the perfect size for a pet."i smirked when cruella flinched back on her seat."this dog loves me, and i love him. and fyi, your dog was not real,it is stuffed!"

"oh!"

"so give it a rest!"

"oh-ho! burn!"i heard jafar say behind them.

"oh! why don't you go sell a toaster, you two-bit salesman!"that was a good one,i give her that.

they continued to argue until i shut the tv off.

"i'm so sorry."fg said with a sad expression.

"it doesn't matter.they don't even wanna see us but still thanks for trying."i told her and stormed out.i got back to the dorms and waited for the rest of the team there.

for last two hours we've been building strategy for the attack.

"okay, we all know what this looks like. so it'll be up on the dais under the beast's spell jar, and we'll be coming in from here.mal will be in the very front.we will be up in the balcony.okay."i told them pointing at them map as i explained.

"carlos?"i called him.

"okay, so i'll find our limo, so we can break the barrier, and, uh, get back on the island with the wand."

"perfect."mal said.

"evie?"i called her and grabbed a bottle from my satchel.

"yeah?"i gave her the little clear bottle that had blue liquid inside it."this is full of magic and you will use this to take out the driver. two sprays and he'll be out like a light.but not one more because then he'll be in coma."

"okay."she said.i could see she's proud that she holds that much magic in her hands.

"m?"evie came to mal and i.

carlos and jay were on their beds and mal and i were going over the plan for last time."do you really want to break ben's love spell?

"yeah. you know, for after. i don't... i've just been thinking, you know, when the villains finally do invade auradon, and begin to loot and kick everyone out of their castles and imprison their leaders and destroy all that is good and beautiful, ben still being in love with me just seems a little extra... cruel."

i don't agree with her.she's strong enough to fight her mother but she doesn't and i don't know why.

"m?"evie called after her when mal got up and went out of the room.she turned to me."what about you asa?"

"what about me?"

"well,didn't you go out with irena?"evie asked and sat down.

i nodded my head."yes but it was only a date.i'm not even standing next to her so...it's nothing official."

evie nodded."alright.i'm gonna go check on mal.good night."

"night."

jay,carlos and i didn't utter one word but we knew what the rest were thinking.

before i fell asleep i saw jay look at his trophy.i know he doesn't want to go.i saw carlos pet dude sadly.

"guys."i called them.they turned their heads and i continued."i'm sure it'll work out.we got a chance to change and we should get a happy ending."

"i hope.i don't want to betray mal and our parents but...i don't want to get back on the isle."jay admitted.
