A request for @EmmaHibdon :)

Warnings: panic attack, anxiety, don't worry it's fluffy though

———

I stepped into the house, taking in the modern and expensive style of it. There were people everywhere and it was hard to get around. I nervously glanced up at Jake, so he lightly rubbed my back and said, "You'll be okay. Have fun!" I put on a fake smile to show I was uncomfortable.

Jake had dragged me out to this party, in which he was the only one I knew there. Not even his brothers were there. I felt so out of place in my jeans, blouse, and Chelsea boots while everybody else was in tight fitted dresses and heels.

He held onto my hand as he made his way through the sea of people as he tried to find the kitchen. There were less people in there, so I felt a little better. I let go of Jake's hand and sighed as I saw some drinks and snacks. Jake poured some drinks into solo cups and handed me one, noticing my still stiff appearance.

"Y/n, hey," he started, resting a hand on my shoulder. "You'll be okay, okay? Just have some fun, I'll go request some songs you like, we can dance, talk to some new people...maybe see what the upstairs looks like..." he smirked.

"Shut up!" I laughed, playfully punching his arm. He laughed back.

"So?" He asked.

I sighed. "Okay, I guess..." I said, making him smile. "Okay, yeah. It should be fun."

"There you go, mama," he remarked, slapping my ass on his way out of the kitchen.

"Jake, stop!" I laughed again, clearly not being able to hide my love for his flirting, if you'd consider ass-slapping flirting.

I followed him into the living room, where there was barely any space to move, the music was blaring, and I could barely feel myself even existing. Jake put a hand on my shoulder and smiled, nodding to the people dancing. I shook my head no.

"Aw, come on, baby!" He pleaded, practically screaming over the noise.

"Just," I began, thinking of an excuse. There were too many people in here. "I have to go to the bathroom first!"

I darted to go find a bathroom as fast as I could, trying to get away from the anxiety and panic I was having. When I reached what I assumed was a bathroom, there were people talking and screaming at each other around it, while the door was locked and others were waiting to get in.

"Excuse me," I managed to get out. A young man turned around, but he was much bigger than me. "Is this the o-only bathroom?"

"Yeah, it is," he spat. "Now beat it, I gotta piss."

I jumped at his words that he screamed at me. I ran to the kitchen, trying to get away from everybody. I couldn't even open the door because there were too many people filling it up. I started to panic, breathing heavily and shaking. I frantically looked for Jake, or even just a door to get out of the house. But I seemed trapped. Trapped in this claustrophobic nightmare. I finally found stairs, and ran up them to a deserted hallway and threw myself onto a wall, slowly sliding down it onto the floor. I was shaking violently, hardly breathing, and sobbing. Salty tears ruined my face caked with makeup, and I felt so alone. I felt like I didn't even exist in the world, like I was trapped in this nightmare.

"Y/n?" I heard. It wasn't real though, I was just imagining it, I was going insane, nothing was real...

"Y/n!!" I heard again.

"Y/n! Are you up there? Oh my god, what happened??" I looked up from my arms and saw Jake as more tears covered my face and clothes. "Y/n/n, what...are you okay?" He frantically asked, coming over to me, holding my back. I instantly wrapped my arms around his neck and cried into his shirt. "Shh, it's okay," he lightly rubbed my back again. "Don't cry, it's okay I'm here."

About five minutes passed by until I finally calmed myself down, and Jake had his hand rubbing over my back the whole time, and we sat in that same position. "I'm sorry," I finally got out.

"Whoa, what?" Jake asked, pulling away a little. "You're sorry? About what??"

"For ruining this for you, and running away, and crying..." I sobbed again.

"Y/n y/n, you have nothing to be sorry for! I understand...you ruined nothing, baby I promise," he comforted me. I cried into his shoulder again.

"Thank you," I sniffled. He kissed me on the top of my head.

"Come on, let's get out of here," he said standing up, holding his hand out for me to take. I grabbed it, but only to pull him into another hug. He chuckled as he wrapped his arms around my hips.

"I love you so much, Jake."

"I love you too, y/n."

We quickly left, without anyone noticing. Once we got home I immediately changed into pajamas and Jake followed suite. We both hopped into bed under the covers, and I laid my head on his chest as he brushed his fingers over my back.

"I love when you do that," I smiled.

"Do what?"

"When you rub my back," I chuckled. "It feels so nice."

"Then I'll do it more often," he said. "See, I like this much better than being at that party. I'm sorry for dragging you out there, I thought you'd like it."

"Jakey, it's okay," I laughed. "I just got...overwhelmed I guess, it isn't your fault. And I like this better too," I nuzzled my head into his neck, lightly kissing him.

"Let's never leave, then," Jake whispered.
