"Since your return you've got a lot of catching up to do," Mira said to me. "Like have you met Wendy and Gajeel yet?" I looked up at her and shook my head. "They're Dragon Slayers like Natsu."
I sat in absolute awe as she continued to fill me in on everything. How Juvia and Gajeel joined the guild and where they originally were from. How we came across Wendy. About Jellal. My heart ached for Erza. Even how everyone thought Gray was bad for a few moments.
"A lot has happened," she said finally.
"Clearly," I sighed.
"But! You're back just in time," she smiled. I looked up, utterly confused, "It's cherry blossom season," she squealed.
I raised an eyebrow. "Tomorrow we're holding the flower party!" Mira said.
"Is that why everyone's drinking?" I turned around and faced everyone, returned to face Mira. She nodded.
"It's pre-celebration," she put her hands together, smiling. "You'll get to play the bingo game and possibly win a prize!"
"It's so lonely around here," Juvia practically threw herself at the bar. I just took another swig of my drink. "Gray-sama left," she pouted.
"On a job?" I asked. She nodded.
"Even Charle and Wendy got to go," she cried.
"They are a group," I said, turning to Mira with an 'I told you so' look.
"It's a small job I believe," Mina started while wiping down the bar, "Just to get some herbs from Mt. Hakobe. They'll be back soon," she turned and winked at me.
I turned and scoffed. I waved her away. "But Im sad!" I heard Juvia cry. I snickered and turned a corner, bumping into something.
I held my head and rubbed it. "Ow," I looked up. Some tall figure stood over me. I noticed his broad shoulders and bulging biceps. I blushed and turned away. "Sorry," I mumbled. I looked back up at him. "Who are you?"
"Gajeel," he said in a low raspy voice.
"Hmph, so you're the Dragon Slayer?" He nodded, "What kind?"
"I'm the Iron Dragon Slayer." I squinted up at him. "What?" he growled.
"You don't look like a Dragon Slayer," I teased. He stiffened.
"Yes I do!" he yelled. I laughed.
"I'm kidding," he rested against the wall, "Do you like Fairy Tail?" I asked.
He scoffed and turned. "I guess," his cheeks turned pink.
"Being a Fairy Tail wizard is pretty nice huh?" I asked urging him on. He slightly nodded. "So what's it like? Being a Dragon Slayer?" I asked, actually interested.
"The best," he said turning to me. I nodded.
"You should show me," I said, "Bet you'll put up a bigger fight than Gray did." He stiffened at my challenge and then a huge, deep snicker escaped his lips.
"You're on shorty," I widened my eyes.
"Shorty?! I'm not short!" I said approaching him. "You're just extremely tall!" I said, invading his personal space, "I could take you down you tower!" I yelled. He pushed me off.
"Then prove it. Shorty," I heaved are his words. He laughed at my quick response to grab his arm off my shoulder.
"Outside, right now," I said, turning around to go outside.
-
He stood in front of me. He was tall, extremely tall. And he was strong, he looked very strong.
He took something out of his pocket and bit down on it.
Iron. He's the Iron Dragon Slayer.
Mira, Gramps, Levy, Jet and Droy were sitting on the bench watching us.
Once he was done he stood up tall and took a stance.
"Come at me with all you've got, Shorty," he snarled. I turned, snickering.
"I will. And you do the same," I said, taking a similar stance.
He charged first, making a iron fist and punching my gut. I coughed, but then I swiftly moved my feet in a motion and made him fly up. He somersaulted in the air and landed on his knees, he got up.
The beatings were back an forth. Eventually he used an ultimate move, surprisingly I was able to dodge it, somehow. We never got in close range though, I decided to change this.
I jumped and landed on my knees, sending the waves of the ground towards him. He tried to dodge it but they were too big, I rolled with the biggest wave and jumped last second. Landing a right hook on his chin. He doubled backwards and gained his balance before knocking my feet from under me and elbowing me in the stomach.
He held me down with one arm and hovered above me. I coughed out some words.
"Damn Dragon Slayer." He grinned at my words. He stood up.
"I won." I stood up as well, dusting myself off.
"I'll give it to you," I shrugged, turning to walk back
"Eh?! I totally won," he called. I shrugged again, snickering. I felt a coldness wrap around my ankle. I looked down and saw a steel hand. I was pulled and fell on my face, within seconds I was in Gajeel's grasp and close to his face. "I won Shorty. Admit it."
I gulped. "Okay okay you won." He set me down. "You don't have the throw a hissy fit about it," I teased.
"I wasn't!" he bent over yelling in my ear.
"I'm kidding!" I yelled rolling my eyes playfully. I eyed him up and down. Did he have a team already? "Hey Gajeel," he looked back down at me.
"Hm?"
"Do you have a group yet?" He looked down at me.
"No," my hopes shot up, but I didn't let him see that.
"Hm," I squinted up at him and then laughed at his confusion.
