Oftentimes we neglect the simplest things.

Walking side by side.

Hands brushing against each other.

Exchanging meaningful smiles and quiet understanding.

Nothing can compare to these simplest of things.

"Shi shi ni."

I can't see his face but I can feel his smile.

"Thank me later."

"You don't have to be so blunt." I say, cheeks heating up all of a sudden.

Da Shen will truly be the death of me.

"You can thank me by cooking dinner later." He stops and faces me. "What were you thinking, laopo?"

Even inside Brown's thick cover, I can feel him smirking.

"I'm not thinking about anything." I say as I speed up.

His warmth seeps through as he holds me from the back.

"And all I can think about is you."

His murmurs caress my skin, tingling with the slightest touch.

"The feel of your skin... the warmth of touch... the way you shiver when I brush my lips against your neck..."

I close my eyes as I savor his words. I can feel his passion seeping through the thickness of the fabric.

"God, Shuang, I miss you so much." He whispers as he tightens his embrace.

"I miss you so much that I think I'm going crazy."

"I miss you, da shen. I thought I wouldn't see you again."

Amidst the chaos around us, we stand still, listening to each other's breath.

Feeling each other's warmth.

"I'd do anything just to be with you, Shuang."

I turn and wrap my arms around him, hoping he'll be able to feel all the love I have inside for him.

"Oh, how cute! Ma, it's Brown and Cony!"

I turn around to find a perky little girl gazing at us.

"Can we take a picture with you two? My daughter's your biggest fan."

Da Shen looks at me and I nod. I've always wanted us to have a public picture together.

Even if covered and unrecognized.

"Thank you! You look so cute together!"

Da Shen bends and ruffles the girl's hair. I smile and reach for a high five.

"There goes a YangShuang shipper." He chuckles as we continue walking.

"YangShuang?" I'm genuinely confused.

"You don't know? That's what our fans call us. Yang, " he points at himself. "Shuang." He points at me.

"Ahh." Makes sense.

"Ahh?" He asks.

"Ahh." I repeat, smiling a little.

"You know, I really hate that word." He says as we settle on a bench.

"Really? Why?" I ask, pretending not to know.

"I'm back!" He says. "Ahh..." He adds, imitating my voice.

I stifle a giggle. So he still hasn't let go of that one.

"I know you're laughing." He says, annoyed.
