"I want to go to the hospital! I want to go to Daddy! He must see I'm fine!"  Yue complained, as Yang Yang's car drove them home.
"Yue, I really want to take you to him, but if you had forgotten, you just came back after spending weeks on a desert island! Now I'll take you home ... You'll take a shower, eat something decent, and then you'll go  to sleep in your comfortable bed. Tomorrow morning we will go to your father as soon as you wake up, okay? Instead you, um ... Dylan, Right? You will come to my house, "said Yang Yang.
Yue, sitting next to Dylan on the back leather seat, immediately noticed the boy's anguished gaze.
She took his hand and as he turned to her, she smiled sweetly.
"Dylan will stay home with me until the situation is resolved," said Yue.
"What ?! No. Absolutely not," Yang Yang replied.
"Instead yes, YangGe".
"Yue, I can't leave you home alone with a ... A ..."
"A what? Mmh? Dylan saved my life! He's a good and intelligent boy. He stood by me and helped me on the island, I'll stay by his side and help him here," she replied firmly.
"If your father finds out ..."
"He would be happy. He did nothing but ask me to bring a boy home, didn't he? Here it is, the boy".
"I would never hurt Yueyue," Dylan finally spoke.
Since they had left the island, he had not yet uttered a word.
Yue was worried.
She squeezed his hand.
After a few moments of silence, Yang Yang decided to surrender and took them both to the home of Yue's father.
"Yue, please, for whatever you call me ... OK?"  YangGe told her again, once they arrived in front of his boss's house.
"Don't worry," she smiled at him, then hugged him.
She understood his concern, but she knew she was totally safe with Dylan.
"Tomorrow morning I will come here to take you to the hospital and in the meantime we will do DNA test to Dylan. Before saying anything to the Wang family, I want to be 100% sure that he is the guy we are looking for," he explained.
Yue nodded.
Yang Yang gave her the house keys that his father had left for him and he went away.
She opened the door and went into the house ...
"Here, this is my father's house ... I also have a house, but I spend a lot of time here. Finally you will go back to sleep on a soft and comfortable bed, aren't you happy? And then ..."
Yue realized that Dylan wasn't following her ... He was out of the door torturing his hands.
She came back to him and gently stroked his face.
"Hey ... What's up?"  he asked him.
"Yueyue ... I ... I don't know if it's right that I'm here ... Maybe I should have stayed on the island ... I feel ... Out of place".
His child's eyes made her heart melt.
She stood on tiptoe and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Looking him straight in the eye she said: "Everything will be fine, Dylan. Promised. I'm with you, okay? I confess, this is a more complicated world than what you've lived on the island so far ... People here can be more ferocious than wolves in the clearing. Relationships are sometimes a mess. And there are a lot of rules to be respected ... But you must not be afraid and you must not feel uncomfortable. You will slowly learn to get by, just  how you learned to survive in the jungle. The difference, though, is that when you got there you were alone ... While now, here, you have me. You can count on me, okay? That's your place, Dylan. "
Dylan's heart was pounding.
The awareness of having Yue by his side made him feel safe.
"You know what?"  he whispered, leaning his forehead against hers.
"What?"
"My place is where you are".
Yue blushed and tried to hold back a smile ... This did not escape Dylan, who could not help but think about how adorable she was.
"Come on, come on," she told him, slowly and reluctantly pulling away from his heat to finally lead him home.
"Ok, let's start from the bathroom ... We have two. This way! This is called "toilet"... In there you will do poop and pee, okay? It's like a game: it is essential that you always center the hole. It's absolutely forbidden to do anything out of that hole! Then there's the shower, where you can wash yourself. It's fun, it feels like being in the rain, but you can decide whether to use cold or hot water! This is the sink to wash your hands, face and teeth. Oh, and ... This is a mirror. Instead of seeing your face in the water, you can see it there. Now let's move on to the bedroom! This is my room. And ... Tadaaaan! This is a bed! I guarantee you will sleep like a baby tonight! Hmm ... You will sleep in that room, which is the guest room. And over there, there's my father's room.
This is Dad's studio instead. He works here...
And then there's the kitchen, where I'll teach you to cook all my favorite dishes!  And you will find out what your favorite dishes are!
This is a refrigerator, it keeps food cool ... Then there are the stoves and the oven to cook the food ... Here we have dishes, glasses, cutlery ... You will slowly learn to use everything!  This, instead, is the living room.  Here you can lie on the sofa and watch TV ... That black box right in front of us ... You'll love it!  Or you can simply rest. That's all, for now!"
Dylan looked around, amazed by how many things he should have learned.  He was fascinated by every little detail his eyes could catch.
"Wow," he whispered.
Yue laughed and hugged him.
"Now I'll give you some of my father's clothes, so you can have a nice shower and then we'll have dinner," she said.
He nodded, excited at the idea of being able to try the "warm rain".
After retrieving an old suit from her father, Yue took him to the bathroom and explained how to use the toilet and shower, then left him alone and headed for the second bathroom.
Dylan, meanwhile, was having some ... Little problems.
"Ok ... Yue said I have to pee in the hole ... Mmh ... Won't it be a little too small? How do I ...? Ok, wait ... Maybe if ... Like this... "
After aiming well, he decided to "shoot" and ...
"YUEYUEEEEEE! I CENTERED THE HOOOOLE!"  he shouted happily.
Yue, just out of the shower, heard him in the distance and burst out laughing out loud.
"GREEEEEAAAAT!" she shouted back.
After taking a shower, he put on his pants and shirt and looked for Yue.
He found her in the kitchen, busy.  He charmed himself to admire her for a moment ... Her hair flapped here and there soft and shiny and her little body, now covered with a wide white shirt and green sports pants, moved deftly from one corner of the kitchen to the other.  She seemed so at ease ... So relaxed ... She was a different person from the uncertain and frightened girl he had met on the island ... And that fascinated him.  Seeing Yue in her own "habitat" fascinated him.
He approached her and hugged her from behind, resting his head on her shoulder.
Yue winced, caught off guard.
"Hey ... you scared me," she whispered, raising an arm to put a hand on his cheek.
"Sorry".
"Everything okay? Do you feel calmer after the shower?"
He nodded.
Her scent was freaking him out ... He sank his nose into the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply.
"What are you doing?"  chuckled Yue.
"I love your perfume ..." he replied hoarsely.
"You have a real obsession with perfumes!"
Dylan didn't answer, but began to leave small kisses on her neck.
Yue felt a chill down her spine.
"Dylan ..."
She didn't know what she wanted to tell him ... If to stop or to continue ...
Dylan took all doubts from her, making her turn sharply towards him and kissing her lips.
After only a second of hesitation, Yue let herself go and answered the kiss.
It was a delicate, sweet, slow kiss ... Dylan's hands grabbed her tight waist and brought her closer to him, while Yue's played with his hair still wet.
When they separated, Yue looked at his sweet eyes and a smile curled her lips.
"I want you to always be happy," she said, rubbing his nose against hers.
A lump formed in Dylan's throat.
Was it really happening?  Had he really left the island?  Could he really hold that marvelous creature in his arms?
"I'm happy," he answered softly.
Yue hugged him tightly.
"Come on, let's eat now!"  she then exclaimed enthusiastically.
During dinner, between a laugh and another, the girl taught him to use the fork and the knife and all those little rules of education that are used at the table.
When they were finished, they began to wash the dishes.
"You have to rub them better with the sponge, otherwise the dirt won't go away," Yue told him, sternly.
"But they slip from my hands!"  complained Dylan.
"You're a mess," Yue laughed, splashing water on his face.
"Ah, is that so?"  he grinned, threatening her with the foam-filled sponge.
"Don't you dare ..." she warned him, stepping back.
"You're the one who started ..."
Dylan tried to grab her, but she escaped and ran away.
He chased her with the sponge in his hand.
The house filled with their laughter.
They were happy.  They really were.
Suddenly Dylan managed to catch her and they both fell on the sofa in the living room.  Yue over to Dylan,   faces very closed, both shortness of breath, a bright light in their eyes.
She took the sponge from his hands and threw it away, then slipped next to him and crouched against his warm chest.
Dylan wrapped her small body with his arm.
They were silent for a long time.  Dylan stroked her back, while Yue breathed his scent with her eyes closed.
"Yue ... Who is Wang He Di?"  he asked her suddenly.
Yue sighed before answering.
"He is a child who disappeared many years ago when he was only eight years old. My father is one of the best detectives in the city, so his family asked him to investigate, hoping to bring their child home ... This is the only one case my dad never managed to solve. He never managed to find that child again," she explained.
"Do you ... Do you really believe that child could be me?"
Yue raised her head and seeing his hopeful eyes squeezed her heart.
"Honestly, Dylan ... When I talked to YangGe I was just looking for an excuse to take you away with me. But ... On the way home, I thought about it and ... I don't think it's completely impossible. Both  you disappeared at the age of eight and ... You actually look like that child ... So ... I don't know, I really hope so. But if the test results prove it isn't true, you don't have to worry  ... We will look for your family, I promise you. In the meantime we will find you a home and a job and you will have a wonderful life ".
Dylan looked at her sincere eyes and smiled at her.  He trusted her blindly.
"Thank you for everything, Yueyue," he told her.
She leaned up and gave him a butterfly kiss on his lips, which made him tremble from head to foot.
"Shouldn't we finish to wash the dishes?"  he asked.
"No. I want to stay here," she replied, with a childlike voice that made his heart melt.
He pulled her closer to him and gave her a tender kiss on her head.
"So let's stay here," he whispered softly.
