Hu Lian Xin had a mission.
A really important mission.
And she would complete it at any cost.
Conquering Dr. Deng would have saved her from her unfortunate fate.
Wang Yu Zheng had managed to get her a date with him and that would surely have been the first of a long list of dates together.
In front of the mirror for a quarter of an hour, one of the most heated battles between her self-confident and her most insecure part was being fought inside her.
A second before she stroked her forms through her provocative black dress and a second later she tried to enlarge the dress by pulling the fabric here and there.
"AAAAAAH WHAT SHOULD I DO?!"  she exclaimed, exasperated.
Hearing her scream, Shen Yue tried to knock on her bedroom door.
"Hey ... are you okay?"  she asked, worried.
"No!"
"What happens?"
"I'm huge! Look at me! How can I win Doctor Deng with this belly ?!"
Yue raised her eyebrows and sat down on the bed.
"Are you really complaining about your belly with a pregnant woman with twins? Seriously? You don't even seem pregnant! While I ... Heck, I look like I'm already in the seventh month!"  muttered Yue.
Hu Lian Xin laughed and took a seat next to her.
"Okay, maybe you're right ..." she sighed.
"Hey!"  exclaimed Yue.
"What?! It's not my fault that two happened to you!"  grinned Xinxin.
"Tsk! And anyway, that dress looks great on you ... I'm sure your dear doctor will fall at your feet" smiled Yue.
"Are you serious?"
"Sure! Let's ask the guys! YU ZHENG! DYLAN! COME TO XINXIN'S ROOM!"
The two boys ran to them in a second.
Yue gave her a little push to get her up.
"A vote from 1 to 10?"  Xinxin asked, making a small twirl.
Seeing the face of her best friend, Shen Yue barely held back a laugh.
Yu Zheng seemed hypnotized by Xinxin's beauty.
Yue also took a look at Dylan and was surprised when she realized that his gaze was on her and not on his best friend.
"You are beautiful," he mouthed softly.
Yue blushed.
Was he making fun of her?
She was wearing her panda-shaped suit ... If Xinxin at that moment looked like a sexy bomb, she... She looked like a huge hairy bear!
He was definitely making fun of her.
"So?"  Lian Xin asked impatiently.
"10" smiled Dylan.
"7" replied Yu Zheng.
"7?! Why 7?! Geez! I have to change clothes!"  she complained.
"I agree!"  said Yu Zheng.
"What?! You won't change anything! You are perfect! Even I would like to marry you!"  exclaimed Yue.
Just then, someone rang the intercom.
"It must be him! I must go! Wish me luck! Byeeee!"
And so Hu Lian Xin disappeared.
Wang Yu Zheng watched her go and again he felt an annoying pain in his chest.
Yue put a hand on his shoulder and shook slightly.
"Are you really sure you can do it?" she asked him.
"What do you mean?"
"You are so dumb," muttered Yue, then she left him alone.

Wang He Di felt exhausted.
He and Yue had to indulge every little whim of Yu Zheng that evening.  They had cooked his favorite dishes for him, watched a movie he had chosen and then played a stupid family game letting him win every time.
Now he slept like a dormouse with his head resting on the kitchen table.
"We should accompany him to his room," whispered Yue.
Dylan nodded.
Yue gently stroked her best friend's hair and called him softly, until the boy finally woke up.
"Honey, let's go to sleep," she said.
Dylan helped her bring him to his room and he watched as she tucked in his blankets and kissed him on the forehead.
"It was like taking care of a baby," he sighed, when they returned to the kitchen.
"You're experiencing for when the twins will be born," she grinned.
"I hope they won't be as capricious as he is," muttered Dylan.
"You have to understand him ... I think he likes Xinxin very much. He behaves this way because he is suffering ... It's not easy to see the person you love leaving with someone else," she explained with a little bitterness in her voice.
"I think Xinxin feels something for him too," he replied.
"I wish they knew it," sighed Yue.
"They will, don't worry."
He gave her a smile and she returned it.
And once again her beauty hit him.
"Would you like some ice cream?"  she asked him suddenly.
"Sure!"
The two sat next to the table
cook and enjoyed ice cream from the same bowl.
"Wang He Di?"
"Yup?"
"You ... You don't feel like going out like Xinxin?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean ... See a girl. You're always at work or here with us ... Don't ... Don't you want to go out with anyone?"
Yue's question displaced him.
Indeed, before the whole pregnancy thing started, he often went out ... While now ... He didn't feel the need.
"Who should I go out with?" he grinned.
"I don't know ... Xinxin told me that you went out with many girls ..."
"You talk about me with Xinxin?"
"No! It's just .... It happened!"
"Tsk! Anyway ... Yes, I went out with some girls, but ... Now I have more important things to think about" he replied looking at her intensely.
"Oh ... If it's my fault, don't worry! You can do whatever you want!"  exclaimed Yue.
He shook his head and said nothing.
Yue rubbed her belly.  Dylan looked at her and smiled.
"I wasn't joking before, you know?"
"Hmm?"
"You are really beautiful," he said.
And it was true.
When he first entered Lian Xin's room, his attention was immediately captured by her.  She was adorable in her panda-shaped suit.
Yue didn't need a dress to be attractive.
"Stop making fun of me," she snorted.
"I'm not making fun of you!"
"Do you say this to all the girls you hang out with, mmh?"
"Well, it's the first step to conquering them," he joked.
"Ahyo! What a womanizer! And then? What is the next move?"
Dylan loved when Yue was in the mood to joke ... So he played the game.
He moved his chair close to hers until he touched her knees and he leaned towards her with a captivating look.
"The next move is a nice glass of wine," he said, filling her glass with water.
"Oh! You make them drunk ... Now I understand!"  laughed Yue.
"Silly! I just offered you the most expensive wine of the pub!"  muttered Dylan, snatching another laugh from her.
"Ok, ok! Very good," she smiled, sipping her glass of water.
"While we drink, let me tell you a long list of compliments that will melt you like snow under the sun."
Yue motioned for him to continue and he took a breath before starting the list.
"Your eyes are so deep that sometimes I have the impression of drowning in them ... I hold my breath every time you look at me.
Your nose is adorable and I often find it hard to not touch it with the tip of mine.
Your lips seem so soft ...
And your moles are one of the sexiest things I've ever seen.  Your hair is so smooth that I would like to run my fingers through it every second.  You are blushing!  God, you get even prettier when you blush! "
"Damn! You really are a womanizer! And how naturally you say all these things! You seem to have learned a poem by heart!"  exclaimed Yue.
She had to admit it, even though she knew that those words had already been said to who knows how many other girls, her heart had really melted like snow under the sun!
"Hey! Listen, I don't say the same things to everyone!"  Dylan defended himself.
"Then you're good at improvising," she grinned.
"Let's move on to the next phase ... A little physical contact."
"Your legs are glued to mine, I would say it's enough," she complained.
"Oh, no! First, let me..."
Wang He Di reached out to her face and gently stroked it.
He brushed back a few strands of hair behind her ear, without stopping to look into her eyes for a second.
The intensity of his gaze was making her uncomfortable, but she didn't want to make him understand it.
She raised an eyebrow.
"It's not working, you're not conquering me," she declared.
"Wait, now the good part is coming!"  Dylan smiled.
He took his cell phone out of his pocket and he put on a slow, romantic song, then he stood up and offered her a hand.
Yue laughed and accepted it.
Dylan was really happy that she wasn't rejecting him.
He knew it was all a game for her, but ... For him ... Having her in his arms like that was ... Special.
He took her hands and tied them behind his neck, while he put his on her hips.
Her belly pressed against his and this made them burst out laughing.
"Luckily you are parting us, otherwise daddy would definitely lend my feet," Yue grinned to the twins.
"Hey! I'm a fantastic dancer!"  he exclaimed.
He didn't say how excited he was to hear her call him "Daddy" to their children in that sweet and familiar way...
As they slowly rocked to the rhythm of music, Wang He Di leaned towards her until his mouth touched her ear.
"The compliments I gave you before ... I think every single thing I said," he whispered.
Yue blushed again and looked away, intoxicated by his perfume.
"With you I would never use the tricks I use with other girls to conquer you. You are different. I have never known anyone like you. And as much as this may bother you, you are now the most important woman in my life because... Because you are the mother of my children. And because... "
Why, Wang He Di?
Because you like her.
The intensity of his feelings hit him like a train.
Several times he had wondered what drove him to need so much to capture her attentions and her trust at any cost ... And finally it was clear to him.
It was clear to him that having her so close was confusing his mind and making his heart explode.
It was clear to him that the more time passed, the more he felt connected to her.
It was clear to him that he was happy that the strange switch had taken place at the clinic, because it had brought him to her.
It was clear to him that the idea of raising their children together made him smile like a fool.
"Wang He Di?"  Yue called him, confused by his sudden silence.
But above all, confused by his words.
"Are you sincere?"  she asked him.
Her children eyes moved him.  Dylan realized that he needed more time to finally make her feel safe.
"I'm sincere," he smiled.
The two looked at each other for a few moments, both lost in the depths of their eyes.
"Thanks," she whispered.
She knew that Wang He Di was working hard to win her trust and she appreciated it.
He gave her a light kiss on her forehead.
"There is one last step to end the night, you know?"  he said, winking.
"Let me guess ... Bedroom?"  Yue ventured.
"Exact!"
Although with some effort, he picked her up in bride's style and carried her to her room, and then laid her on the bed.
"You're a real womanizer," laughed Yue.
"So? Did I win you?"
"Absolutely not".
"Ouch! Shen Yue! You are so difficult!"
"That's why I'm single," she grinned.
He shook his head in amusement and lay down beside her.
Every night he sang for the twins, it was their habit now.  Their ritual.
As he began to sing, he stroked her belly gently.
"Thanks for the evening, Yueyue."
"Tsk, did you at least pay the bill to the pub? That wine was really expensive!"  she exclaimed.
Dylan laughed.
"I used your credit card," he replied then.
This time it was Yue's turn to laugh and it was music for Wang He Di's ears.
Seconds, minutes, passed ... And Yue felt that Dylan's hand on her belly moved more and more slowly.  When she no longer heard him sing, she looked up and noticed that he had fallen asleep.
Usually she was the one who fell asleep first ... And usually, in the morning, she woke up alone, but well covered and with his perfume still on her pillow.
She sighed and got up, being careful not to wake him up.
She took off his slippers and tucked the covers carefully.
You can trust him, Yue.
He is taking care of you.
You feel good when you're with him.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the vibration of his cell phone on the bedside table.
She checked the screen, worried that it was Xinxin who needed help ...
And instead...
Another girl's name appeared on the screen.
Sure she was doing the wrong thing, but unable to hold back, she read the preview of the message:
