STORYTIME!

You always adored it when it rained. It's just normally cool and the water is refreshing in your skin. Many people like Hilda, Dorothea, and Ferdinand despise the rain but you never understood it. You could run around in the swampy grass around the dorms and greenhouse, you could sit on the pier and watch the ripples in the port, you could take a strol in an empty courtyard... there are many ways to enjoy a beautiful rainy day.

You like to watch the rain fall, just listening to the constant litter pattern overlap and ring in your ears. The rain hitting the ocean was the most beautiful to you. That's why you sat at the edge of the deck with your legs swinging out over the salty ocean. The air was humid and salty, but a constant breeze along with the almost misty sprinkling of today's rain refreshed you. Normally someone would be chilled to the bone by the wet wind, but you were so used to it you didn't care. You smiled and lightly kicked your feet, loving the weather.

"I didn't expect anyone to be out around this time. You must be mad (name)! Mad as a hatter, ha ha!"

You flinched when you heard the cream of the boards and the playful voice of the head of a rival house. You were a member of the Black Eagles, hence why you mentioned Dorothea and Ferdinand. Is his name even spelled right? The author is far too lazy to check and honestly you don't care. You looked down and watched the rain next to your feet. You smiled lightly and decided to make a lighthearted conversation out of this. Claude is your friend. He's everyone's friend.

"Mad as a hatter, good one! I always found it crazy how everyone else hates being out in the rain. It's so fun just to watch the rain fall in the ocean and let your mind wander to whatever you want to think about. You should try it with me, or we can talk, or you can leave if you want. I'm okay with anything."

You looked up and looked at him after you were done talking, trying to figure out what his reaction and preference on what to do was. He grinned without showing his pearly whit teeth, looking up and feeling the misty rain directly fall on his face. You heard him breathe out a soft bit of laughter, walking maybe two small steps forward and sitting down, his own legs dangling off then pier to match your own. His legs were much longer than yours. That or he sat closer to edge, it all depends on how tall you are.

"I don't mind having a conversation with a (handsome/beautiful) [whatever you prefer] classmate like you~. I just need a conversation topic so I don't make this awkward."

You felt his eyes on you, waiting for something to start talking about. What should you talk about? What do you want to talk about? You shrugged, not having a single clue.

"I just like the way the rain falls, don't look to me for something to talk about. You'll have to figure that out yourself, your royal highness."

You over exaggerated a bow while sitting  turning your weight to face him first. He rolled his eyes, pressing his lips into a thin line and licking the front of his teeth while nodding. You got the reaction you wanted. You teased him enough to make him determined to think of something himself. Perfect. You watched the water a bit more while Claude stood up, going to get soemthing. What was he doing? What was going on through his mind? You understood when he grabbed some cheap bait and two fishing poles, smirking like he had the best idea in the entire world. He threw one at you and with great luck, you caught it without fumbling. Way to go you!
