Cordelia was and always will be my first girl fire emblem crush. My second ever Awakening playthrough was as a guy named Remus (hey look at that I also use that name now whaaaat) with Virion-colored hair because I wanted Severa to look like Hatsune Miku and Cordelia was just so cute and appealing to me when I first saw her in my first playthrough. No, Awakening was not my first FE game (it was the Binding Blade) but that was before I learned it was okay for girls to like girls so yeah.

Also we need more Trans!Readers because Trans people deserve good representation thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

STORYTIME!

It's been five years since the war with Valm, and three since you gathered the courage to transition. Now you had the body that you wanted since you were a small child, a small boi. Now you're a big boi. And a happy boi. That's what really matters.

Five years after the war Chrom invited everyone back to Ylisstol for a reunion ball. It would be the first time your former comerades saw the brand new you. Before you were a puny healer who could barely lift a broadsword but now here you are, one of the most fearsome axemen and bowmen ever to meet the gladiator territory of Regina Ferox. That's right, you became Flavia's most favorite champion once the war was through. You were quite broad to hold that title and have Flavia as your maternal figure through your transition. She was a great mom. Still is. She's amazing.

The second you walk into the room you're greeted with a good time. Vaike, pardon, Teach still refuses to wear a shirt and Virion is hitting on someone's wife again. You know, the usual. You let out a hearty laugh and try looking for someone you actually talked to during the war. Like Kellam or Donnel or Maribelle or... her. What? Everybody had a crush on someone during the war! It was just weird because you didn't appear to be male so everyone would think you were a lesbian if you acted on it, you're not a lesbian you're a straight man.

You found her wearing a gorgeous, elegant red gown accented gold bearing a pure white rose tucked behind her ear. Her long crimson hair fell down her back nearly in a perfectly crafted braid and her eyes shined like the stars in the night sky. By the gods she drove you absolutely mad. You strived to be strong like her, strived to be smart like her, and in the end you found yourself modeling the man you wanted to be as a man you thought to be worthy of her. Perhaps you were worthy enough now for a small chat with her. Maybe she'll recognize you, maybe she won't. You were praying for the latter.

"Cordelia! Ho there!"

It just occurred to you how your most formal clothes weren't nearly as tidy as most other men who were here. Libra's and Virion's and even Henry's attire was all clean cut suits with maybe a few accents to flair off their personality. The thought of Henry in a suit was perplexing, but he did marry Lissa. That would explain that rare occurance. Cordelia turned her attention to you, a clear glass of wine placed in her hand untouched.

"Oh my gods, is that you (deadname)? Oh pardon me, that mustn't be your name anymore now is it. Forgive me for being so inconsiderate."

She recognized you. Your heart soared and your stomach dropped at the same time. The deadname was harsh, but that's good. She knew you. You weren't so forgettable after all.

"No no no it's okay! I actually go by (name) now and I would much prefer to be called that and by the more masculine titles. It's okay to get it wrong and you aren't inconsiderate. Actually, you're a more considerate person for correcting yourself than anything. Please don't stress, Lady Cordelia."

She let out a breath of relief. Was she genuinely that worried of offending you? And she accepted you so easily? Like, right off the bat! That doesn't happen much here in Yilisse from what you've heard. People in Regina Ferox don't care what's in your pants, everything is about food, fighting, and another f word we can't say 'round these parks. It was so laid back and carefree that coming back to your original halidom was quite stuffy in return. It was so nice to see someone like Cordelia again. You glanced at her hand, surprise to find no ring. She followed your eyes and darkly laughed, casting her gaze to the side so she doesn't have to deal with the same of eye contact.
