Irkens don't grow as they age. Of course, Dib didn't know that. Dib went off to college and such, and Zim didn't see him for a few years. They still had phone calls and texted and such, but they never got to see each other until Dib finally came back. He changed a lot over the years, and Zim stayed the same. Of course, this confused Zim, but he got used to it. (I'mma say he's about 20 in this)
