Let's Go!

The- memory? -of the Galra in the armor shifted to someone else, but in the same armor. I would've recognized them anywhere, even if their hair was different.

It was my dad, there was no doubt about that. His hair was black with just the white tuft in the front and he was wearing the armor, just like the picture in his and mom's room back on the Atlas. I saw him with- Holy Crow. Could this day not get any weirder? Please?!?!?

My dad was with my mom, as well as all my aunts and uncles except for Aunt Ramelle and Aunt Jessie. They were all in the weird armor with different colored accents, mostly just messing around and having fun. Then the memories shifted a little and I saw my parents together. My mom in the armor with dark sea green accents, at least her hair was still the same.

Then the memories changed to another's, except their armor had dark sea green accents instead of black and- Hold the ever-lovin' phone. Was that Mom!?!?! Who would I see piloting the Black Lion next? Uncle Lance?!?! Great Uncle Corran?!?! And to think I thought this day couldn't get any weirder.

In one of the memories, I could hear Mom shout, "The Zyforge Canon is launching! I can't stop it!"

"What do we do?!?!" Aunt Katie yelled.

Uncle Keith yelled, "Maya I think-" He was cut off when Mom's lion shook.

"Hold that thought Keith!" Mom told him. She turned her attention to something else. "Hey! Fart-knocker! NO ONE LIKES A TAILGATER!" She jerked the controls and-

"Hey guys did you get lions, weird armor, and the H-shaped things too?!?!" squealed Shay. Her voice brought me back to reality, and to the floor.

I managed to get out an affirmative answer and re-adjusted myself in the pilot seat. Ok, so our helmets had comms systems hooked up to each other. Duly noted.

I moved Black's controls and the lion got to her feet. Or his. Maybe It? I assumed it was a her because the lion had no mane like earth lions I'd seen pictures of, but hey, this was an extraterrestrial war machine, probably built by non-Earthians. What did they know about earth's animals? Then again, this was super-intelligent non-Earthians we were talking about, so what wouldn't they know?

All those thoughts were making my head spin, so I decided to ask Black whether they preferred him or her. "Hey, Black, should I refer to you as a him or a her?"

I got the strong feeling Black was telling me it was a she, and I shrugged. "Ok, then. She it is."

Black left the- hangar, I supposed -and joined my friends outside.

"Wait," asked Alyssa, "Who's in what color lion?"

Everyone replied with the color lion they were in. Shay was in the chunky yellow lion, Alyssa in the bright blue one, Max in the small green lion, Karter got the sleek red lion, and Kendall in dark sea green one with wicked-looking wings and claws.

"This is so cool," Karter said.

"I know right?" squealed Alyssa, "Mine's so pretty!"

"I gotta admit the wings and claws on this girl are pretty wicked," Kendall added.

"Guys," I interjected, "Do you know what this means?"

"What?" Alyssa asked, "That I'm totally hot now?"

I could almost hear everyone roll their eyes.

"No," I answered, "Guys. We are sitting huge war machines right now. That means that we can go back to the Atlas and help our parents."

My friends were overcome with shock and realization.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Max cried, "Let's go!"

Everyone's lions started to take off, but I stopped them. "Whoa, Whoa, Wait! We can't just leave the pilots and their MFEs."

There was a chorus of 'Oh, yeah's, and we turned back to get the MFE's.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The MFEs were out of power, but luckily everyone's lions, except for Max and Alyssa's whose were the smallest, had cargo bays big enough to hold the fighters. As we loaded them up, I noticed everyone had similar armor to mine, just with different color accents that matched their lions.
The lions took off, Officer Griffin and Thor standing behind me.
We asked Max where to go because his lion had a UPS (Universal Positioning System). OK fine, all our lions had UPS's, but Max was better at that kind of thing.
We got ourselves turned in the right direction and had started flying when Max stopped. "Guys, hold up."
Alyssa started complaining, but I cut her off. "Alyssa!" Then I turned my attention to Max. "What is it?"
"Green just received a distress signal from that nearby planet."
"Well, what does it say?" Kendall asked.
Max answered her, "It's from the Whoki of the planet Whokia. It says that an evil underground criminal network has captured the planet's royal family, killed a lot of other important rulers, and taken over with help from the Shifts."
"That sounds bad," Karter said, "We should go help them."
"No we shouldn't," Alyssa argued, "Our parents need us."
"So do these guys apparently," Kendall growled.
"If we go help those guys," said Shay, "Will we have to fight? I don't want to fight........"
"We're not going down there," Alyssa cried, "We need to get our parents first."
"They need us too!" Kendall yelled.
My friend's argument got louder and louder until I couldn't stand it any longer. "EVERYONE SHUT UP!"
My friends went silent, and I took a deep breath. "Look. I know we want to go get our parents. I want to go and help my parents. But these guys need our help too. I say we go down and help them. And we wouldn't be stopping. It's just a small detour, one that shouldn't take more than an hour or two."
Everyone agreed with me, and Kendall asked, "So what's the plan Sky?"
I thought for a minute, "Well these guys have already taken over, and they've captured the royal family. So if we come in guns blazing with our lions, they'll just kill the hostages. It'll have to be an infiltration mission. We drop off our lions somewhere where they won't be seen, grab the royal family and get them to safety, then take care of the criminals."
Everyone liked my plan, and our lions shot for the planet.
