Saving our Parents (Part the Second)

I walked out onto the ceiling's beams, and activated my twin katanas. I could hear the others activating their's behind me as well. Thor crept up next to me and go into his crouch, ready to leap down.

There were three loud booms as someone, probably Shay and Karter, knocked. "Delivery." I instantly knew it was Shay changing her voice to make it deeper.

One of the guards opened the door, and gave the two a weird look. "Where's the delivery?"

"It's right here," Karter said as he and Shay whipped out their H-shaped thingies and transformed them into their weapons.

Shay blasted the Shift in front of her and shouted, "Let's get 'em!"

Karter pulled back his bow's glowing string, and a glowing red arrow appeared. He launched it at Yurax, who blocked it, and our two friends charged.

Yurax growled with anger and ordered the Shifts to charge.

Shay and Karter charged as well, and a few minutes later, only three Shift guards were left standing next to our parents.

Perfect.

"Alright guys!" I said over my shoulder, "Time to join the party!"

And we jumped down.

Kendall took out the remaining soldiers next to our parents as soon as she and Kosmo dropped down. Max and Alyssa hit the floor running for the dashboard and the two shifts in front of it. As soon as I landed, I sprinted over to join Shay and Karter, Thor was right behind me, leaping onto Shifts in order to knock them down.

Shay was screaming her head off as she blasted the Shifts to kingdom come, and Karter was using his bow to block laser blasts while shooting two and sometimes three arrows at a once. 

You guys already know that my katanas could slice through Shift blasters, Shift blades, Shifts themselves.............but it turns out the katana blades could even absorb laser blasts. Three guys came at me with blasters raised, and I switched to one katana as an electro shield appeared on my wrist, just like the ones we used for training back on the Atlas. Sweet.......... I let out a roar and charged.

I glanced over at my other friends for a second as I drove a katana into the first Shift's chest and chopped the second's legs off. Thor pounced on the third, digging his teeth into the one Shifts many tentacles.

Kosmo was jumping on Shifts like Thor, getting any soldiers that Kendall missed. She was acting as the sniper, blasting away Shifts that were where she didn't want them to be.

I noticed Alyssa's whip could cut through Shift soldier and their weapons almost as well as my katana. She could also grab their weapons or ankles and tear away their weapons/rip them off their feet. The Altean princess wound her whip around one's waist and threw him into his buddies, knocking them down like bowling pins.

Max was typing furiously at the keyboard, firing a calculated blast over his shoulder every once and while. 

There was a yell of fury behind me. I turned to face Yurax a few dozen feet away. I switched back to two katanas and stormed toward him.

He pushed a button on his wrist.

Quiznack.

There was a loud zap, and I didn't even have to look to know it was our parents screaming.

"MAX!" I shouted over to the dashboard, "HURRY UP!!!!!"

"I KNOW!!!" he yelled back to me, "I'M ALMOST DONE!!!" He stood up to join Alyssa as a cartoon face resembling his appeared on the Shift screen, showing the process of the hacking program. The computer beeped and the cartoon face disappeared.

"ALYSS'!!!" Max ordered her, "PULL THAT RED LEVER!!!"

She nodded, and after kicking a Shift in the face, grabbed the indicated lever with her whip and pulled with all she had.

There was long low bee-oooooop as the lights went out and the screaming stopped. Then the lights came back on but much dimmer, they were most likely using energy from the backup generators. Which, thankfully, wouldn't have nearly enough power to keep the electric bindings on.

I glanced over to the parents. They were unconscious, but looked fine. Good, we could leave them there for a minute while my friends and I finished off Yurax and the rest of his soldiers.

Shay and Kendall shot the control rooms doors to keep more Shifts from coming in. Karter finished off the last few Shifts as Alyssa grabbed Yurax's wrist with her whip and pulled it down. Karter pinned down the other hand with one of his arrows. I threw my katana, and it buried itself deep in the general's chest. He dropped to the floor, dead as a doornail.

My friends and I cheered and celebrated our victory. Trading high fives and fist bumps as we complimented each other on our skills.

There were groans and grunts behind me. I turned, and saw my Dad pushing himself up on his real arm. "Sk........Skyanne?"

I couldn't hold myself back for even a second. "DAD!!!" I cried, dashing over, falling to my knees, and wrapping my arms tightly around him, not ever wanting to let go, "YOU'RE OK!!!!!"

Mom woke up, and I hugged her with my other arm tightly as I buried my face in Dad's chest. I closed my eyes, forgetting what had happened the last few days, what was waiting for us on the other side of those doors, just being calm and relieved that my parents were OK.

Thor let out an earsplitting bark and raced over to lick my mom's face. She laughed and rubbed his head, telling him he was a good boy for protecting me and finding her. The husky gave all three of us a lifetime supply of dog kisses.

All around me, I could hear my friends reuniting with their parents.

"Max!"   "MOM!!! Thank the ancients you're OK!!!"

"Karter! Kendall!"   "Mom! DAD!"

"Shayna!"  "MA! PA! YOU'RE ALRIGHT! OH, I WAS SO SCARED!"

"Alyssa!"   "MOTHER! FATHER! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!"

We did it. What we had originally set out to do when we took off from Arus two days ago.

We saved our parents.
