A/N: This takes place after the events of Calling All Titans. The reader's criminal name is Bandit.
The Hive, or what remained of it after Jinx's departure, was back in Jump City. After those stupid Titans defeated everyone back in Paris, the Hive and their 'allies' got flash frozen and shipped to their nearest prison.
Obviously, the Jump City prison was no match for the Hive. Their escape was pretty swift, only if you consider millions of dollars in property damage courtesy of Mammoth swift, but that's besides the point. Point is, the Hive was back in Jump City and the boys were looking for their next heist.
Banks were the first things that came to mind, but they figured it was too easy. Museums were always an option but it would be a hassle to bring in every stupid thing they thought was cool or priceless. Yeah, Kyd Wykkyd was able to make their stolen goods manifest at their lair but it was too much work for just some paintings and vases.
But that was just his own, internal opinion.
His opinion didn't matter, though. Billy Numerous, who had dubbed himself as the new leader of the Hive, decided on robbing the Jump City museum blind. Not that he minded the decision, but he was sure Billy wasn't exactly leader material. It was irrelevant anyways; everyone had been dying to get back to doing their thing.
Including Kyd.
According to Billy, not much would change in regards to the Hive's method of thieving except for one major component: Jinx.
When Jinx was in the Hive, time was no issue. If time ran out or if they got caught, Jinx's ability would have turned the odds in their favor. They didn't have that luxury anymore so they had to scrimp on time and just rely on their skills and Kyd's teleportation.
The plan was to have Kyd Wykkyd teleport the Hive to the museum. The museum' security system allowed for a 3 minute 'play period', as it was called by the Hive, where the security alarm wouldn't alert the police for a solid 3 minutes after detecting people inside after-hours. According to Billy, his clones, and Gizmo, the heist would run smoothly.
On the night of the heist, everything went as planned. Kyd Wykkyd managed to teleport everyone to the museum without a hitch. Gizmo set a timer for 2 minutes and 55 seconds while everyone hyped themselves up before running through the museum's doors.
Except they were too late.
By the looks of it, somebody was already looting the museum. The Hive stood at the doors as they saw some girl just pick and take whatever she deemed good enough to pilfer, as if she were at the mall or something. Who the hell does she think she is?
"Hey, Princess! This place is taken- go find another!", Billy spoke up after realizing no one in the Hive called her out on her actions.
"No, thanks. I got here first." She didn't even bother looking at Billy or the Hive. Instead, she continued perusing the main floor with her stolen goods tucked away in backpack she carried. "Plus, I'll be sure to leave you guys some stuff. There is honor among thieves, y'know."
The Hive stood back and watched, perplexed at this girl's method of stealing. By the looks of it, all she had to do was apparently shrink whatever she wanted and just chuck it into her backpack.
Kyd didn't really know what this girl's deal was. He was actually kinda confused as to why they didn't just ignore her and start stealing. She was just at the main floor and they had an entire museum to loot. He decided to give the main floor a quick overlook for anything he might like before moving on to the rest of the museum.
"Kyd, what the hell d'ya think yer doing", Billy asked once he saw the caped thief glide through the main floor and join the mysterious girl.
"Is that his name? Kyd?" The girl finally looked up to face Kyd, who was across from her and looking at the ancient jewelry in the glass cases. "Well, Kyd, looks like you're the only one with a shred of common sense." She gave him a cocky grin and did a quick peace sign before walking off. "I didn't even introduce myself. I'm Bandit."
Frankly, Kyd was only interested in stealing some priceless stuff and leaving. He didn't have any intention on fighting some other wannabe thief, especially if they were short on time. Not to mention, she had shown herself to be harmless, so why not cut her some slack?
Kyd glanced at Bandit then at his friends. He focused back on Bandit, who got bored with everything else in the museum and decided to take a seat on one of the artifact display cases. She looked back at the Hive curiously, almost expectantly. "You guys don't have a lot of time left." She looked at her wristwatch. "I don't know what you're waiting for. You don't really expect Kyd to do all the grunt work, do you?" Bandit looked back at Kyd and winked. "Just kidding, dude."
"Who do you think you are?" Gizmo growled at Bandit as he glared at her, pissed at her attitude and the fact they didn't get there early enough.
"A better thief than you, shortstack. You got a problem with that?" Bandit hopped off of the display case and sauntered to the door. "I'd be happy to solve any issue you might have with me but I'm afraid the boys in blue are coming soon and I don't really feel like dealing with them, or you guys- whoever you are."
The Hive guys would've been insulted except for the fact that she was right and the cops were outside the museum. Contrary to the plan Billy, his clones, and Gizmo had made up, they would just have to settle with grabbing as much stuff as they could before teleporting out of there. Before Kyd teleported the Hive and their loot away to the lair, Y/N did a peace sign before swinging into the rafters above them.
"See you soon, guys!"
What a weirdo.
