A regular day for Y/N usually consisted of staying inside and only leaving to go to work or down to the bodega for groceries. She didn't really see Gotham as the kind of place that would be worth 'exploring'. That is, if she didn't want to get mugged in broad daylight.
She was a homebody for a good reason, she believed.
Her roommates, Blair and Cameron, got very bored with her usual routine. Yeah, Y/N was nice but she didn't really do much. If Y/N was convinced that going out into Gotham was going to kill her, might as well go out having some fun.
"Seriously, Y/N. How would you rather die: mugged in your own apartment after a boring evening or after having a fun night out with friends? Babe, not to be morbid, but you're going to die anyway-", Blair paused as they applied their mascara in front of the mirror. "Die with a good Snapchat going."
Y/N glanced at the crossword puzzle she was halfway done with and then back at her roommates. She groaned as they looked at her with playfully expectant grins. "Fine but I'm the designated driver, so don't even expect me to drink." She trudged into her room and started getting ready for the evening.
Blair and Cameron high fived each other, relishing in their victory.

Y/N, Blair, and Cameron walked into the partially empty barroom. It wasn't exactly what Y/N expected. She expected a packed bar with drunken people and loud girls who tried to sing along to whatever was playing, but it was nearly the opposite.
Most of the patrons were sitting at the bartender's counter, nursing their drinks. Few people lingered and swayed on the dance floor. There was an empty stage with strobe lights above it, illuminating the lack of performers. Of course, it was pretty packed for Thursday's standards.
"You said you came here often," Y/N asked at her friend that now bore embarrassed looks on their faces.
"Listen, Thursday doesn't always have the best ambient, but at least there's no drama." Cameron explained before taking them to a table close to the stage. After ordering their drinks, Cameron leaned in close to Y/N. "We didn't want to take you out to a club or something right off the bat if we knew you weren't going to like it. That's why we decided to bring you here first. The drinks are good and so is the entertainment."
As if on cue, the server came back with two mint juleps and some juice for Y/N. Not only that but the white, stationary lights that lit up the stage suddenly changed colors and began dancing across the emptiness. A stocky man, the MC, walked up the steps to the stage and took hold of the microphone that stood in the middle front of the stage.
"Good evening, folks. How ya doing?" He asked, only to receive some scattered, unintelligible replies. He gave a dismissive chuckle and shook his head. "Hope you're ready to liven up tonight cause everyone's favorite crooner is here tonight." With that announcement, the unintelligible replies became louder, more excited. "Everybody, please give it up for Dionysus." That being said, the older man handed the mic to a guy who happened to walk up on the stage.
"Dionysus, huh?" Y/N commented to her friends. "Sounds kinda pretentious, doesn't it?" Blair and Cameron hushed her quickly as they gazed at the cute redhead on the stage. "Trust me Y/N, this guy is amazing", Blair whispered.
Y/N raised a brow, doubtful, and looked back at the stage. Maybe she was being the pretentious one in thinking so but her friends were easily impressed so maybe this 'Dionysus' guy wasn't as awesome as they made him out to be.
"Good evening, everyone. I'm Dionysus, it's nice to see you all again. I also see some new faces, which is also nice." His eyes flickered over at Y/N's table, almost as if he were calling her out. "We're going to start off with a heavily requested song. So please, sit and enjoy your drinks."
With that said, slow rock music began playing through the speakers. Blair and Cameron both headed to the dance floor that had slowly started gaining some couples or loners that decided to dance alone. Y/N stayed back at their table and focused on Dionysus.
'Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell'
'Jimmy Rodgers on the Victrola up high'Y/N's doubts had gone with the wind. His voice was clear and alluring, fitting for the airs Dionysus put up. She sipped her drink and continued listening. Occasionally, she'd glance at her friends that sang along with the redhead. She smiled a bit and eventually found herself getting into the groove.
She decided to get up and dance with her friends. Y/N swayed to the sound of Dionysus' voice, vibing to the Presley tribute. Y/N and her roommates were hyping each other up for the song's hook.
'Black velvet and that little boy smile', Dionysus mused.
"Black velvet in that sweet Southern style", Y/N finally sang. She shut herself up quickly when she realized her friends didn't sing along with her. It didn't help matters when she realized she was the only one who sang along to the hook.
Dionysus noticed that too, apparently. The singer stifled a coy grin and gave her a thumbs up before finally finishing the song. The crowd cheered and applauded once the music came to a smooth finish.
Y/N walked back to their table and covered her flushed face by sipping some of Blair's julep. She heard the chair behind her move as if somebody sat down. Thinking it was one of her roommates, Y/N turned around to see Dionysus himself.
"Hello", he greeted. He stood up and offered to shake her hand, which she promptly accepted. "I'm Dennis, but you know me as Dionysus. It's nice to meet you." A confident grin adorned his face as he waited for Y/N's response.
"I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you." Y/N smiled politely and saw her friends from past Dennis' shoulder. "Sorry about the song, by the way." Her smile became sheepish and shy.
Dennis shrugged and waved off her apology. "I wouldn't sweat it. It's just that I hadn't noticed you here before and it was kind of inevitable, especially when I heard you. I've seen your friends but I'm guessing it's your first time here?"
Y/N nodded. "Yep. My friends come here often but I usually stay home. I'll be coming back, though. I like it. It's a cool scene here."
The redhead grinned. "Is that so? Well, you're always welcome, Y/N. Fair warning: Friday gets packed but it's a good vibe. I take requests so if you have anything you'd like yours truly to sing, I'm here for it, 'kay?"
"Sounds good, Dionysus", Y/N chuckled. "I'll be here tomorrow." She thought about his proposal for a second. There were so many choices. "Actually, I want to request something but I'm not sure what I want. How about you pick something? I trust you."
The MC came back and whispered something to Dennis. Dennis nodded curtly and shifted his focus back on Y/N. "I'm game. Listen, Y/N, I have to continue the set but please, enjoy the show. Of course, I wouldn't have to tell you that." He stood back and waved goodbye before making his way back to the stage.
Blair and Cameron came back from the bartender's counter with some drinks, excited looks on their faces. "You spoke to Dionysus? What'd you two talk about?" Cameron asked, eager for Y/N to spill the tea.
Y/N bit her lip before spilling the tea. "Well, Dionysus is a pretty cool guy. We talked about his set Friday night." The corner of her lip turned upright as she gave her friends a knowing look.
"So we've got plans for Friday?"
