The year was 1965.
Two young ladies, Y/N and her dorm mate, Dorian, giggled as they sauntered down the street. They were headed to the Tanière de Dionysos, an out of sight nightclub. It was super hard to get in but luckily, Dorian had a connection in the nightclub.
Y/N and Dorian grinned tauntingly at the poor saps that had to wait in the extensive line outside the club. After showing the bouncer their IDs, the girls made their way downstairs to the club. They gave each other excited glances as they walked past other club patrons and made their way to the dance floor.
"I'm gonna get us some drinks. Don't wait up, kay?" Dorian told Y/N who simply gave her a thumbs up and continued dancing.
Y/N danced and shuffled around, looking for her friend after she felt Dorian had taken too long getting drinks. After looking around and stopping at the bar for any clues and a Hippie Juice, Y/N found Dorian sitting at a VIP table with a group of girls and an androgynous looking person with striking red hair.
"Hey, Dorian", Y/N called out after the bouncer outside the VIP sections denied her access. Dorian quickly came to bring Y/N over, pushing her past the bouncer after rapidly explaining to him that Y/N was part of the group.
"What the hell, Dori? You ditched me back there and now you're with the 'in crowd'", Y/N teased Dorian as they made their way back to where Dorian had been chilling before. The H/C haired girl glanced around the VIP section and looked at all the other young people. It was like an entirely different place.
"Shut up. I got invited by some girls to join in and I couldn't get you since they were kinda flaky. Now, shut up and be cool." Dorian explained while waving back at some of the girls that were waiting for her return. Before getting too close to their table, Dorian whispered into Y/N's ear. "Just be cool. This guy's a bit out there and I don't mean far out." Then they arrived at the table.
The girls were greeted by Dorian's new acquaintances and a the guy Dorian mentioned. "So, girls...and Neil, this is my best mate, Y/N." Dorian scooted over as she glanced at Y/N, shooting her a quick 'introduce-yourself-but-be-cool' look.
"Hi, I'm Y/N. It's lovely meeting you girls, and singular guy." Y/N gave 'Neil' a glance before grinning at the girls that sat next and across to her. After introducing herself, Y/N was faced with quite a few unintelligible questions from the other girls. Y/N chuckled after they stopped their chattering. "I'll answer your questions if you can tell me why you 'kidnapped'", Y/N used air quotes when jokingly accusing them of kidnapping "my friend."
"Well", Neil spoke up, mildly startling Y/N. "Dorian is quite the comedian, according to my girls."
Y/N raised a brow. "Your girls?" She started to get an uneasy feeling and she started to realize what Dorian meant when she said he was 'out there'.
"Yes, my models. I'm a fashion designer." The redhead explained before taking a sip of his drink. The girls around him nodded, confirming what he said as the truth. Well, at least that explained the particularly fashionable clothing they all sported.
Y/N couldn't help but to notice that his group looked just a tad bit different than all the other groups in the VIP section of the club. Still, even if he was a fashion designer, that wouldn't prevent Y/N from messing with him, even if it was for just a bit.
"Oh, right. No wonder I found your face vaguely familiar." Y/N shrugged. "I take it those marvelous outfits are of your own creation. New, not even released." She muttered nonchalantly.
Neil nodded once. "Are you sure I'm only 'vaguely familiar'? You seem to know a lot the unreleased line." He scoffed smugly as he took another drink from his glass.
"Don't flatter yourself, Neil. I work for the Dip! department store. Dip! is always the first to stock the latest fashion and trends, but I haven't seen any of these outfits in the department store... yet." Y/N shot him a coy grin. "It is a lovely collection, though. I'm sure it'll all the rage." After taking a drink from her Hippie Juice, Y/N realized she finished it.
Thank goodness.
In all honesty, Y/N dying to get out of there. She was sure Neil and his girls were pleasant people, but she had gotten bored and it was late. She wanted to go home. After all, they both had work in the morning and it would be in their best interest to get their beauty sleep.
"Well, I believe that's my time here." Y/N waved them goodbye. "It was lovely meeting all of you." She smiled and urged Dorian to come along as the latter was busy finishing up her drink and saying her goodbyes.
"Goodbye, ladies." Neil waved them goodbye before turning to one of his girls. "Remind me to stop by Dip! tomorrow."
