Chapter 2: 99 Problems
Stella's POV
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Leila dragged me to the beach with her today since I spent yesterday with Olivia.
I feel like a divorced kid going back and forth between each parent. I wish Liv would tell me why she's been acting so distant with Leila, but I know Liv will tell me when she's ready.
"Whatcha writing about?" I questioned Leila as she twiddled with her pen anxiously.
"Nothing much. Homework related," Leila responded as she glanced towards me then back down at her small pink notebook.
"Leila, we are at the beach. Forget homework," I ordered her as I snatched the notebook out of her hand. I held it away from her, so she couldn't take it back.
Leila let out a sigh before lowering her head in defeat. "You're the one who dragged me out here. I'm not about to sit here and watch you do your homework."
"Fine," Leila said making me smile. I slipped her notebook into her backpack that was sitting next to her.
I faced Leila while sitting criss-cross. "So how are you and Asher? I feel like we haven't had serious girl talk in a while."
"Ash and I-."
Leila was cut off by a football flying towards us, causing me to dive behind Leila and catch the ball before it nailed her in the back. I saw the ball fly in the air for a few seconds before I moved, giving me enough reaction time to save Leila and I.
"Hey guys," Spencer said as he walked near us. "Nice catch," Spencer added before pointing his thumb behind his shoulder at Asher, who was smirking.
"I'll be back," I huffed before standing up and marching towards Asher.
"What the hell was that for?" I asked him as he continued to chuckle.
"Well hello to you too," Ash stated. Asher held out his hand for me to give him the football and I shook my head.
"Hello Asher," I said before taking a few steps back, away from him. "I'm not giving you the ball back. I know you. You're gonna throw it at us again."
"Psh, no. I would never do that," Asher said before we both chuckled at his comment.
"If you want the ball back, you're gonna have to take it from me," I challenged Asher.
"Is that a challenge I hear?" Asher asked with a smirk.
"Maybe, maybe not," I said shrugging my shoulders.
"You're so on, Morgan," Asher stated with a cocky attitude.
"Yo, JJ. A little help over here," Asher hollered out caused my face to drop.
