Chapter 8: Homecoming
Stella's POV
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Even though I should be exhausted after everything that happened last night and early this morning, I still decided to go on my weekly weekend run.
I swiftly turned the corner and plowed into a hard chest, causing me to bounce back and land on my butt.
"El?" Baker questioned as I looked up to see who I ran into.
"Did you just call me El?" I asked confused as I pushed myself up off the concreted sidewalk. Jordan ignored me and ate a pringle from the can that was in his hands.
"Baker, are you okay?" I asked him as he still continued to ignore me. Baker just stared at me, which caused me to focus on his eyes. His eyes seem different, like not his normal self. I mean not that I pay attention to his eyes or anything, but they just seem different than usual.
"Shut the front door," I gasped as I realized what was up. Baker's eyes widen and quickly tried to shush me. "Are you high?"
"Shh, keep your voice down," Baker said as he place his hand over my mouth while glancing around us to see if anyone was nearby. Luckily for him, not a soul was out this early in the morning.
I removed Baker's hand from my mouth and stood there in shock. "The Jordan Baker- I mean Mr. Perfect is high?" I stated as I shook my head, trying to wrap my brain around Baker and his new found attention for drugs. This wasn't the Jordan Baker I knew.
"Why are you still in your homecoming tux?" I added on once I realize he was still wearing his white shirt that was loosely undone and was half tucked in. His red tie was hanging around his neck; untied as well.
I glanced down at his feet and cocked my head to the side as I saw his bare feet. "Uh, where are your shoes?"
Baker glanced down before he started to panic. "El, you gotta help me! Oh my God, I think I'm freaking out," Baker said as he began speaking quicker than normal.
"Woah, Baker. It's all good, just calm down," I said placing my hands on his shoulders.
Baker threw his head back and let out a loud sigh. "My dad is going to kill me! He can't find out! Oh my God, I'm so screwed!"
"Baker," I said trying to shut him up, but he continued to freak out.
"He's going to think I'm like Liv. I'm not, I just needed a break from everything. All the stress from my dad and yo-."
"Baker!" I said snapping my fingers in front of him, hoping that would get his attention.
"I'm way past curfew too. My dad is literally going to rip me to shreds, especially when he finds out that his QB1 is high," Baker continued to ramble. Baker rubbed his face with his free hand that wasn't holding his Pringles.
