The next morning, the delinquents hung out in the dorm. An old seventies song played from a stereo. Kids played card games, laughed, and chatted. But Athena and Clarke weren't in the mood for play. The girls sat side by side on Athena top bunk, and made notes on the map they had been given.

"Not bad," Jasper said as he squinted at the map they scribbled on. "Maybe they'll hang it on the walls someday."
"At this point Clarke deserves her own gallery," Athena chimed as she swung her legs. Her gaze switched to the door, and she hopped down from her bunk. "Miller!"
The two friends embraced kindly, but Miller immediately winced and jolted back. His dark brown eyes flashed apologetically. "Sorry, Athena. The shoulder is still sore from when that grounder knocked me down. It took three surgeries to pop this baby back into place."
"I'm glad you're okay, Miller," Clarke said.
A hint of annoyance glinted in Miller's eyes as he looked at Clarke. "I hear you're fitting right in around here."
Athena and Clarke shared a look before their gaze switched to Maya. Maya pursed her lips as she looked to Miller, holding up a pill bottle and handing him a bag. "Twice a day. Don't forget."
"Maya." Jasper grinned. "Top of the morning. . . is a very dumb phrase. . . I saw it in a movie once."
Maya giggled.
"Are you going to breakfast?" Jasper asked.
"Yeah. Wanna go together?" Maya smiled.
"Sure. Ye-Yeah. I'd love that," Jasper beamed.

An alarm began to blare, and red lights flashed. The delinquents stopped their laughter. Someone clicked off the stereo. Clarke and Athena exchanged a look. They hadn't done anything, so what was this alarm for?

"Shoot. Sorry, Jasper. Save me a seat." Maya hurried for the exit, but Athena blocked her path.
"What's going on?" Athena demanded to know.
"A surface patrol is back, and someone needs medical attention," Maya answered, and quickly glided by Athena. "I have to go to quarantine."
Clarke hopped down from the bunk. "Do you think they found survivors?"
"Lets go see. If our people are hurt, we have the right to know," Athena replied before she hurried for the exit of the dorm and Clarke followed.
Jasper chased after them. "Guys, wait! We shouldn't just wander around in quarantine!"

Since Athena and Clarke had studied the map so well, they knew exactly where quarantine was located. They sprinted down the halls, and Jasper chased after them. A team of doctors were pulling on blue hazmat suits, discussing the situation.

"They were attacked. One dead in room two. The other took off his gloves and mask to treat him. He's in Decon, but will have treatment as soon as he's out," a man informed his team.
"Who attacked them?" Clarke demanded to know as she, Athena, and Jasper arrived to the scene.
"What are they doing here?" The man snapped. Athena turned to snatch a keycard out from a man's pocket shirt, and sprinted toward the doors with Clarke following her. The man chased after her and Clarke. "Hey! Stop! It's not safe!"
"It is for us!" Athena called as she swiped the card, and the scanner beeped. "Come on, Jasper."
"Someone's gotta keep them out of trouble," Jasper remarked before he ran after his friends.

The room the group of three had went into was filled of long white halls and doors that led to patient's rooms. Paintings of sceneries and nature lined the walls. Small statues were placed on top of columns. Athena turned the corner, leading her friends into another white room that said Room 2.

"Athena. Clarke. Quit pushing so hard," Jasper begged. "These people-"

The sentence died on Jasper's lips, and his eyes widened with horror. A man's corpse was placed on a metal table with a plastic sheet draped over it. Through the plastic, the three delinquents could see the boiled, blistered, bloody skin. Clarke stepped closer and gripped the outline of something that looked dark metal beneath the plastic.
