The drill roared as it was pushed through the entrance door of Mount Weather. The army waited. Everyone seemed to be nervous. Even the grounders who had gone through hundreds of wars. But this was the first attempt of taking down Mount Weather once and for all.

"That should do it," Monroe said as she clicked off the drill.

David Miller and James Dawson went to the door to place in the hydrazine. Now all they had to do was wait for the rest of the plan to fall into place. But now night time had come, and no signals had been sent.

"It's taking too long," Athena murmured.
"It will take as long as it takes," Lexa spoke calmly. "What will you do when it's over?"
"I'm going to act like the seventeen year old girl I should be," Athena answered. "I'm going to have peace with the man I love, and my friends, and my family. Peace is all I've ever wanted."
"I hope you can have it. You deserve it. If there's one thing you are, Athena. . . it's good," Lexa said with a soft smile.
"Thanks. . . I hope you find your peace too, Lexa," Athena cooed.
"You should come visit Polis so we can keep up with your training. We don't need the savior to become rusty in combat," Lexa spoke tauntingly.
Athena chuckled. "Yeah, right. It's you, Heda, who should have the fear of becoming rusty."

The girls shared a laugh. For a moment they forgot they were about to go to war with the biggest enemy they had ever faced. For now they were two young women acting as friends. But the sudden gunfire yanked them back to reality. The army began to shout in panic.

"It's coming from the dam. They know we're going for the power," Clarke exclaimed, stepping next to Lexa.
"They know we're going for the door," Lexa growled.
Lincoln began to shout orders in grounder to the army.
"As soon as those lights go off, push the button," David told Clarke as he handed her the control.
"We'll take care of the rest," Lincoln assured.

The light finally glowed. Athena smiled with relief. It was time to bring everyone home. It was time for the mountain to fall. It was time for wars to end. Clarke inhaled sharply as she tightened her hold on the control.

James half smiled. "Raven did it."
"One minute starting now," David exclaimed.
Clarke looked at Lexa. "To those we have lost."
Lexa smiled softly as she placed her hand over Clarke's. "And to those we soon shall find."

A light blush spread across Clarke's and Lexa's faces as their hands brushed together. They pushed the red button together. Nothing. Clarke and Lexa slammed the red button several times, but the door didn't open.

"Why is it not working?" Monroe asked.
"They're jamming us. I need to get closer," Clarke said, moving forward.

As soon as Clarke stepped into open space, gunfire roared from above the door. The army ducked from their bullets and held up their iron shields for protection. Athena quickly yanked Clarke back into her previous spot behind the large boulder. The gunfire continued, but the grounders began to shoot back arrows.

"If I can get there, I can trigger it manually," David informed.
"No way, David." James shook his head.
"For Nate I have to try," David exclaimed.
Athena snatched the control from Clarke and handed it to David. "Go save your son."
"Thank you," David breathed.
Athena nodded, and turned to the army. "Get him to the door. Shield wall!"

A dozen grounders lifted up their large iron shields and circled around David. The huddled group moved far too slow. They were only a few feet away from the door when the entire group collapsed due to the bullets that plunged through them.

"We'll find another way in," Lexa assured.
"There isn't another way in. You know that!" Clarke cried. "That was our only one."
"No, it wasn't," Elena said as she drew back the string of her bow with an arrow on fire.
"Ten seconds!" Clarke wailed. "Seven. . . Six. . ."
