Athena, Octavia, and Clarke were willing to do whatever it took to keep Bellamy safe. Even if it meant disobeying a few rules. The three young women led Indra, Malani, Kai and a few other grounders through the halls of the ark, and to the airlock where the mountain man was being kept.
"No way. . ." The guard in front of the airlock quaked as he shook his head.
"Move, or you will be moved," Octavia growled as she continued to storm toward the airlock, and the guard quickly stepped aside. "Get dressed, mountain man. You're coming with us."The mountain man hadn't put up an argument. He quickly slipped on his suit. Athena, Octavia, and Clarke guided their team outside who held the mountain man hostage. The sky people murmured nervously as they watched the group pass. They charged for the gate.
"Clarke, stop." Abby blocked their path.
"No, we're letting the prisoner go," Clarke informed.
"Absolutely not," Abby snapped.
"He hasn't told us anything," Kane added.
"He doesn't have to. He's going to tell them something," Athena replied.
Abby turned to the several guards that had gathered behind her. "Take the prisoner back to the airlock now."
"Yes, ma'am," the men chorused as they began to step forward, but quickly stepped back when the grounders whipped out their swords.
Clarke's eyes glowed tauntingly. "You may be the chancellor, but we're in charge."Abby's expression became a nervous one as murmurs from the crowd swirled through the air. Athena's, Clarke's, and Octavia's glare were all deadly and intimidating. For three teenage girls, they knew how to run things better than Abby ever could.
"Indra. . ." Abby's wide eyes of anger and fear never left Clarke. "Tell your people to stand down before this gets out of hand."
"Not going to happen," Indra hissed.
"People could get hurt," Abby scolded the three teenagers. "Think about this carefully."
Athena slightly tilted her head as her eyes pierced with anger. "That's only if you don't move out of our way."
"Mom. You have to trust that we know what's best for us," Clarke said.
"The grounders trust Clarke, Athena, and Octavia," Kane stated. "Maybe we should too."
After a few moments, Abby finally turned to her guards. "Stand down."
The group strode past Abby and her guards. Clarke cleared her throat, leaning closer to Athena. "I can't believe we just did that."
Athena smirked at her friend. "I'm proud of you for doing it."
"Open the gates!" Octavia commanded. The metal gates swung open. Athena, Clarke, and Octavia all exchanged glances. If this plan didn't work, then the sky people and grounders had already lost. Athena shoved the mountain man forward and he grunted as he stumbled toward the border.
Kai and another male grounder gripped the mountain man's arms to keep him in place. Athena's eyes narrowed into a deadly glare that could kill, and the mountain man's expression filled with fear.
"Can you hear me in that thing, mountain man? Because this is very important," Athena growled.
"Loud and clear," the mountain man grunted.
"Good. I have a message for your leader. . ." Athena seethed. "We're coming for him. We're coming for all of you. You can watch us as much as you want, but you haven't seen our powerful army that even your acid fog can't protect you from. And now thanks to you-" Athena smiled tauntingly as she lifted up the reaper stick, and pressed the button so it squealed loudly. "Neither can the reapers. This is your final chance. Stand down, and let our people come home. Because if we suffer. . . you suffer with us."
"I got it," the mountain man huffed.
Athena lifted up the small nozzle to the man's oxygen tank. "It's an eight hour walk back to Mount Weather?" She pressed the nozzle so air blew out an the dial switched to six hours. "You're going to do it in six."
"Six hours isn't enough time," the mountain man argued.
"Then I guess you better start running," Athena hissed.
