It had been a rough day. After Murphy had led the group to the grounder camp, they saw the grounders rummaging through piles of clothes and supplies that had come from the delinquents' camp. They had managed to capture one of the grounders, and Finn led them to an underground bunker to question the man.
"We're going to do this one more time. . ." Bellamy fumed. ". . .and this time, you're not going to screw with us. Where did you find this?" He held up Clarke's watch.
"I already told you." The one eyed grounder with long black hair and a beard heaved an exasperated sigh as if he had better things to do. "I found it outside your camp."
"He's lying. She would never take it off voluntarily." Finn snatched the watch from Bellamy. He held it in front of the grounder's face. "Where is the girl that was wearing this watch?!"
"I never saw a girl," The grounder grunted.
"Another lie," Murphy snarled. "Maybe you should quit asking nicely."
"Shut up, Murphy," Bellamy snapped. "Where are our friends? You took them. We know you did. Just tell us where."
"Murphy's right. We're wasting time." Finn smacked the handgun across the grounder's face. "Answer the question! Where was the girl who was wearing this watch?!" Finn shouted as she waved the watch in the grounder's face.
"Finn, stop!" Bellamy yelled as he yanked Finn back. "There are some lines that you can't uncross."
Finn sighed. He turned to the grounder. His expression twisted into anger. "Where's Clarke?! Where is she?!" Finn smashed the gun against the grounder's head.
Bellamy dragged Finn back.
"Back off!" Finn yelled as he pointed the gun to Bellamy's head.
"Put down the gun, Finn," Bellamy growled, glaring into Finn's crazy eyes.
"Do you want to find your Little Goddess or not?" Finn sneered.
"Of course I do," Bellamy snapped. "But this isn't how we do it. This isn't how she would want us to do it."Finn shook his head. He switched the gun to the grounder. The weapon only hovered a few inches away. Finn gritted his teeth together. A wild look pierced his darkened eyes. He clicked on the gun and the grounder took a deep breath.
"Three seconds! Three! Two!" Finn clenched his teeth, gripping the weapon tighter. ". . .One."
"Okay!" The grounder sobbed. "I'll tell you. Your friends are east of here; the village where we take our prisoners of war."Bellamy's expression became a mixture of fear and sorrow as his gaze fell to the ground. Athena was a slave in some sort of prison camp. Bellamy pushed the awful thought out of his mind. He didn't want to imagine her being treated like dirt and being forced to do whatever awful chore the grounders wanted her to do.
"East where?" Finn growled. "How do we get to them?"
"I can draw you a map," The grounder offered. "But you must hurry. Soon they'll outlive their usefulness."
Finn huffed as he lowered the gun. "Get him something to draw a map."
Monroe glared at the grounder as she showed him a piece of paper before placing it in front of him.
Murphy smirked as he strode to Bellamy. "You thought I was the crazy one, huh?"Bellamy looked to Finn with disbelief before walking to the opposite side of the room. He sat on one of the tattered couches that had its leather peeling away. Bellamy sighed as he rested his elbows on his knees and placed his head in his hands. Finn sat next to him.
"We're going to find them, Bellamy," Finn assured. "Then everything we did will all be worth it."
Bellamy lifted up his head. He glared ahead, not wanting to look Finn in the eye. "It better be."🔷
The mountain men dragged the two teenagers down the dimly lit hall. Athena sent Clarke a panicked gaze over her shoulder. She looked just as terrified as her. Athena inhaled sharply as she turned away. Her heart dropped when she saw the iron door. Pure hatred burned in her tear glistening eyes as her jaw clenched. This was the end for her.
