These past few days have been a whirlwind. I haven't stepped a foot out of the hospital at all. The furthest I've gone is down to the hospital cafeteria and then straight back to Ev's room. I usually go while Ev has had scans or is in a deep sleep that I'll slip out quickly for. I haven't been to practice and I know coach is probably pissed as fuck but I don't care. I need to be here.

The time I've been able to spend with her I've been cherishing. I've been enjoying just sitting beside her. We talk a little but she's been quiet when she's awake. I know she's exhausted. If she's not hurting from her wound she's thrashing from a nightmare. It kills me seeing her go through all of this. Hearing her screaming and yelling out for help breaks me. I want to take it all away.

I know it didn't help when my ex came to see her earlier. That's when it really all took a turn for the worse. I knew she would remember eventually about what happened just like the Doctor told her she would but Taylor set it off. If I had it my way Taylor wouldn't have been able to step foot in the hospital parking lot. Yes, I feel bad for what happened to her because of what that fucker did to her and My Ev, no one should go through that but her intentions were not pure in the beginning.

She could've said something when she knew something wasn't right but she didn't, she helped. She was the accessory to the horrible things Everly went through in her own sister's apartment to the hotel room he had her captive in.

After the whole matter of Taylor stepping in and telling her side of what happened I could tell Ev's walls were building. She was distant. She didn't look towards me or Taylor after she heard he was dead. To me it was utterly the best thing I heard come from Taylor's mouth but the look on my girl's face was heart breaking. Her tears were causing her eyes to glaze over and she was trembling. Even after what he did to her from the very beginning she still felt bad. That's one of the many qualities I love so much about her is she still cares so much even if she's been hurt.

Maybe it was everything piling on to each other from before the kidnapping to why she's here but she lost it. Her sobs wracked through her frail body harshly. I held on to her pulling her into my lap for comfort as much as I could. Her tears running hot down her flushed cheeks soaking through my shirt. I could careless, I needed her to be okay.

I told Taylor she needed to go. She caused enough pain that I wish she could take back with her as she left me and Ev together. I could tell the nurses were worried as they caught glimpse through the door Taylor left through but I just waved them off wanting our privacy.

As time crept by I held on to Ev with everything I had. I told her repeatedly how sorry I was and how beautiful, amazing, brave and strong she is. I want to tell her how much I still and always will love her but I don't want to overwhelm her.

I'm not too sure how long we stayed embracing each other. Her arms were tangled around my neck as she laid on top of me on her bed. Her sobs slowly came down and her body relaxed completely against mine. She fell asleep on me as her breath tickled the side of my neck. I'm so happy she found comfort in me letting me hold her as long as I could not only did it help smooth her but me as well.

Our family and friends made their way back to the room while she was still sleeping. Worried looks all crossed their faces but I gave them a tired smile and whispered she was okay. They all have a tired nod as they left, Ev's parents and sister gave her gentle kisses on her head not trying to wake her before they left as well.

Now we both lay here alone, finally. I finally have my girl in my arms and I know she is safe. Her soft breaths fan against my neck as she slept causing goosebumps to rise along my skin. I play with her long hair that cascaded down her back feeling how soft it is. I'm so fucking happy I get this chance to do this again. I know I royally fucked up badly. I almost lost the one person that means everything to me, the one and only person that I truly love with my whole heart and has done everything for me.
