Dear God,
I met Jesse at the hospital again today.
We went to visit the little children.
I saw him smile for the first time today.
It suited him.
I asked him why he didn't smile more often and told him that he had a pretty smile.
And he told me,
'Let's make a deal. I'll smile more if you smile more. Because guess what?'
I asked him, 'what?'
And he said, 'you have a pretty smile too.'
And for the first time since I started dying, I laughed. A real laugh.
And then I thought that maybe you do exist after all.
Because you sent me a blessing.
You sent me Jesse.
Love,
Mackenzie
