Fifty-nine square miles of land was sacrificed by the Army Corps of Engineers to create Lake Lanier in the Northern Georgia mountains.

The federal government relocated over 250 families and their belongings. But that was not all they moved.

Twenty cemeteries were also unburied, and the bodies moved.

Several accidents and drownings at the lake have now marked it as cursed. People who have survived a near-death experience at Lake Lanier claim that they felt invisible hands dragging them down beneath the surface of the water.
