Katsuko's POV
The club was packed full of people drunk, dancing, smiling, and laughing. I wasn't a huge fan of nightclubs. I was more of the type to go chill down the pub, but I was enjoying hanging out with Ryo and the band. I could tell why Ryo loved being in the band with them so much; they were fun, witty, happy, and they all seemed nice.
Although I can't deny I was a little disappointed when Masato opted to go stand watch by the bar with Yokochi rather than joining us four on the floor. It was fun, though, even if Sugi was getting a little handsy with me. He seemed harmless, and it was just dancing for a bit of fun, so I went with it as we swayed away.
"I'm going to get some fresh air," I called into Ryo's ear as I released myself from Sugi's hold.
"Want me to come with?"
I shook my head, "No, I won't be long."
"All right, don't take long, or I'll drag you back up here." I shot Ryo a smile before I began pushing my way through the crowd.
I stepped outside, a small crowd of people stood, talking, smoking, so I opted to move a little further away.
I leaned back against the cold brick wall, breathing in the crisp spring air. It was getting too crowded in the club, and the smell of alcohol, body odor, and sweat was beginning to bug me. I was tipsy, but not drunk enough to be without care about it, like Ryo and Sugi. They were both completely off their rockers, and Katsuma wasn't far behind.
"So, a guy finally decides to come and dance, and you fuck off."
The sudden voice caused me to jump as my head snapped towards the sound to find Masato standing there with a grin on his face.
"Well, if I knew that, I'd of stayed up there." I chuckled, "I just needed some fresh air; it was getting too hot and smelly."
"Yeah, nightclubs are like that, never been much of a fan, they're fine if you're drunk enough. But, I was not one to deny those lot of their urge to drink and dance."
"Yeah, I'm not a fan either, but hey, you only live once, so sometimes you just got to say, why the fuck not."
"That's true. So, now you've met the whole band, they're idiots, right?"
"Yeah, especially that blonde one, biggest idiot of them all." I was trying desperately to suppress the laughter that threatened to spill as I watched Masato's jaw drop.
"Now that is mean! You insult me after I was so kind enough to come out here to keep you company. I think I will take my leave now, Ms. Katsuko."
Masato turned in a playful huff and went to take a step forward. I reached out, grabbing his hand and pulled him back. However, I pulled too hard. The force caused him to spin and stop barely an inch away from me.
Now he was this close to me; I could smell the marine breeze, sandalwood and sensual musk wood scent of his aftershave. My entire body felt flushed as it noted how close to touching we were. He wasn't much taller than me, so his dark brown eyes were locked with my hazel ones.
His eyes left mine as they flicked down to my slightly parted lips before finding my eyes again. At the moment, it felt as if time had been completely suspended.
Kiss me. I wanted him to kiss me, I knew I shouldn't, but I couldn't deny the desire that began to simmer inside me. He was Masato from Coldrain, he was my cousin's best friend, he was him, and I was me.
"We should head in." My voice came out strained and weak as I spoke.
"Yeah, we should."
We both stayed there for another second, I waited to see if he'd do anything, but he didn't. I cleared my throat and gave him a small smile before I took a step back. To him, I was just Ryo's cousin; I was just another girl, and he could have his pick of women.
I sidestepped and went to walk past him. The disappointment crashed over me like harsh waves. I was an idiot to think he'd be even the slightest bit interested in me.
Drink, I need more drink. I muttered to myself as I brushed past him.
"Kat?" His hand took my wrist gently, causing me to stop my feet.
"Yeah?" I turned and looked at him, expectantly.
He stayed silent for a moment; his expression pained as if he was having an internal fight with himself.
"Nevermind." He shook his head softly, "It's nothing."
"What, Masato?" I urged, something was going on inside his head, and I wanted to know what.
"It's just...No. You know what? Fuck it." He pulled at my wrist softly as the other hand reached up to the side of my face.
It all happened so fast; I barely had time to take a breath before his lips crashed into mine. I squeaked in surprise at the sudden act, but it hardly took me a second before I found myself melting against his lips.
Everything inside me seemed to erupt like fireworks as my stomach churned with butterflies.
However, the kiss was over as quick as it started as he pulled away, but not entirely. He was still close enough that I could feel his breath on my face.
The hand that held my wrist moved to my hip as the other relocated behind my head, wrapping itself in my hair, and he brought my lips back to mine.
My hands found their way to his waist with a firm grip as his tongue ran across my lips, a silent plea for permission.
I was powerless to deny him as my lips parted and our tongues met, falling into a rhythm like it was natural. I'd kissed guys before, but none of them had felt like this. It was smooth, natural, causing my insides to twist and turn in a way that I didn't want to stop.
The hold he had on me tightened a little as our lips and tongues moved without fault. I felt as if I was in a completely different world from the one I'd known my whole life.
I didn't want the feeling to stop, but we were both struggling for air. Reluctantly, we both pulled away but stayed close.
"Sorry. I just-"
"I'm glad you did." I smiled, cutting him off.
Masato's face broke out into a grin, "Me too."
"We really should head back in, though."
"Yeah, before Ryo sends out a search party. Trust me; he will. We lost Katsuma once, and oh lord, he had everyone searching for him. Want to know the best part of that, though?"
"Do tell."
"He was at the bar the whole time, but because he's so small, none of us saw him." Masato burst out laughing, and I ended up joining in.
"He is pretty small," I spoke once my laughter had calmed at the thought of everyone trying to look for Katsuma only to find he was there the whole time.
"Yeah, I was the one who found him, and I was like 'oh there you are', and he looked at me so confused. Anyway, let's go." He touched his lips with mine in a chaste kiss before he let go of me.
He held out his hand, and I didn't even need to think before I took it, our fingers lacing together as he led us back inside.
