Katsuko's POV
Six weeks later
I stood waiting anxiously inside Chubu Centrair International Airport where crowds of other people waited for their friends and family. My eyes scanned every being who came through the gate in the vain hope one of them would be him. It felt like I'd been waiting hours, although the reality was, it had only been twenty minutes. The board said the plane had landed five minutes ago, so I knew he'd be walking out any minute.
Another five minutes past and the crowd had slowed, one or two people coming through every minute, rather than groups of them.
Where is he? I thought to myself as the crowd around me dispursed. However, before I could think anything else, my eyes found him, and my face broke out into a smile.
I couldn't stop my feet as they ran and lept into his open arms.
"Took you long enough." I chuckled as he wrapped his arms around me tightly.
"Hey, Kitty Kat. Sorry, my suitcase had to be the last damn one. I missed you." Masato sighed in relief as his head buried into the crook of my neck.
"I missed you, too. How was your family?"
"Really good." He nodded, lifting his head to press his lips to mine in a sweet, lingering kiss. "It was amazing to see them again; my nephew's got so big. And my sister in law is pregnant too; they're expecting a little girl at the end of November. She's twenty-one weeks, kept that news tight-lipped from me."
"Aw, you're going to have a little niece, that's awesome. I'm happy for them, and you."
"Yeah, I can't wait, god forbid if a boy ever makes her cry, I'll beat him senseless." He chuckled.
"Oh, I don't doubt that." I reluctantly pulled away and looked at him with a smile, "Let's go."
------
I looked over at Masato from my driver's seat as we neared his home in the Minato Ward. He was sat, looking out the window, his fingers tapping in rhythm to the music coming from the speaker. I couldn't contain the smile that spread across my lips before I turned my eyes back to the road ahead.
It had been six weeks since that night, Masato and I kissed in the fresh, spring air in March outside the club, and things had been blissful.
After he called me the day after, asking me out on a date and we'd been dating ever since. He treated me like nothing short of a Princess. Taking me out for dinners or quick lunches when I was able to escape work long enough. On Saturdays, we'd spend the whole day together, and we'd spend the night, although we still hadn't slept together.
We agreed to take it slowly, given the whole situation, and honestly, I didn't mind. After my last relationship, I was all too happy to take things slowly. I was perfectly content with how we would lay there, holding hands, talking about everything, and nothing all at once. It was a level of intimacy I'd never shared with anyone before, and I relished in it.
I was falling head over heels in love with him, and with him being gone for the week, I knew it to be true.
"You still coming to the shows this weekend?" Masato asked, pulling me from my thoughts.
"Of course. I'll be driving straight out to you after work Friday; I've arranged to leave a little early. The prototype is finished now, so we need to do the pitch for it, but Asumi's on it. We have to present it at the beginning of next week, but she promised me she'd got it covered."
"You'll stun them, baby." I glanced at him to see him looking at me with a smile as his hand reached over and squeezed my knee softly. "I can't wait to play those two shows and know you're there standing on the sidelines."
"I can't wait, either. I thought tonight, we could go to mine, and I'll cook dinner, and we can watch a cheesy movie or something."
"We could, but I already made plans and booked us a table at Atsuta Horaiken Honten. My treat."
My eyes snapped to him as I stopped at a red light, and my mouth dropped. "No, Masato, that place is so expensive, amazing, but expensive, it's too much."
"Nothing is too much for my Kitty Kat; besides, tonight isn't just going to be any ordinary night."
"How so?"
"You'll see, but no arguing, I'm taking you, and it's my treat, tonight is all about you, baby. I missed you."
My heart fluttered as I looked at him, he hadn't said it yet, but I knew he loved me, it is evident in the way he looked at me. It caused me to melt and swoon like a school girl tripping over her crush. "I missed you, too."
I unwillingly pulled my eyes away from him as the lights began to change, and I continued driving.
------
"So? What do you think?" I smiled at Masato as I spun on the spot.
"Kat...you look...wow." He looked at me, stunned as I felt the blush creep up on my cheeks.
I'd gone for a lace-up, V-neck black dress which hugged my small curves. Black velvet almond toe heels with a strap around the ankle on my feet and a small velvet clutch bag. All finished off with simple black earrings and light makeup with my hair pinned at one side, allowing it to fall over my shoulder the other.
"You don't look too bad yourself, Mr." I grinned as I stepped in front of him, my hands gripping at the fabric of his fitted red and black chequered flannel.
Masato rested his hands on my hips, pulling me closer to his as he buried his head into the bear crook of my neck. "I like your hair like this, free access to do this."
A giggle came from me as he peppered soft kisses against the top of my shoulder and up my neck, causing a shiver to run up my spine as my body began to tingle.
"We'll be late."
"I'm almost tempted to stay in right now." He mumbled against the skin at the nape of my neck as he continued his gentle assault.
"Yeah, but think about all the food, and I'm starving."
Masato pulled his lips from my neck and brought his face to mine, "Well, I can't let my koneko go hungry now, can I?"
"Did you just call me kitten in Japanese?" I asked with a raised brow.
"I believe that is what I just said, yes. Unless you prefer Kitty Kat."
"Hmm, no, I like it, I approve. Now, let's go." I smiled, pressing my lips softly to his before I stepped away and headed for the door.
