Chapter 46

Masato's POV

"Fuck off! You're fucking kidding me?!" Ryo stood there looking at Kat and me completely baffled.

"Nope, the doctor confirmed about twenty minutes ago." Kat grinned.

We'd come straight to Ryo's after seeing the doctor who'd confirmed Kat's pregnancy. According to the blood, she was roughly four weeks along, and we were looking at early June for a due date. However, he was sending Katsuko for an ultrasound to confirm the exact dates.

Kat found great amusement in that news when she'd worked out she'd fallen pregnant around early September. That was her birthday when I'd proposed, and we'd made plans to get married and have a baby. Although we agreed to wait for a little on the baby front, life seemingly had other plans.

I was still in a state of disbelief, and I'd been up most of the night with my brain going into hyperdrive. However, the timing was awful. Except for three weeks over Christmas, I was due to be out touring, doing press, video shoots right up until a month before our wedding in July. I wasn't going to be around for the majority of the pregnancy, and the thought killed me.

Although I took small solace in the fact if the due date was early June, there was a high chance I would be home. We were due to get married mid-July, and the label had granted us a nine-week break. We'd come off a tour in Japan the second week of June so that I could help Kat with the plans and organizing, and then we'd be going back to the road mid-August.

However, after that, we were going to be all out busy, writing and recording what was potentially going to be Coldrain's final album. They were planning major tours in Japan, a worldwide one getting out to as many places as possible. Festivals wherever they could get us a slot, they wanted four of the tracks of that album to be released as singles. That meant four different video shoots. On top of the press, interviews, and whatever else they could throw on us on the lead-up and following the album.

I hated the idea of having to leave Kat alone for the bulk of the pregnancy, and again once the baby was here. I wanted nothing more than to be able to stay at home with her. It was bad enough I put her through this life for as long as I had.

"This is so amazing! I'm going to be an uncle! Shit! Congratulations!" Ryo scooped Kat up in his arms before pulling me in to join the hug.

"Thanks, Ryo." I chuckled, "Um, can you not tell the others yet? We agreed we should tell our parents first. We're going to see my parents tomorrow, and we're trying to arrange to have her parents come out here once she's back from Tokyo."

"What? You mean I got to keep this news to myself, oh man. Okay, no, that's fine, I'll keep my mouth shut, promise. Wait, am I the first to know?"

"You are." Kat nodded, "Had to tell the world's best cousin first."

"Finally! I get some news first. Wait...no, technically Masato still knew before me. Fuck sake."

"I'm the damn father! Of course, I should have been the first to know."

"All right, fair point. Wait, so, when are you due?"

"Early June maybe, need to wait for the ultrasound to confirm. We're going to try and arrange it for soon as you guys get back from America so that Masato can be there."

"Oh boy, with the wedding in July? You two are going to be exhausted, like, I'd expect you two to fall asleep mid-vows or something."

Kat shrugged, "Well, I guess we could always postpone the wedding until next year if need be. But, we'll wait to see what they say at the scan before we decide anything."

"Makes sense. Damn, I'm so happy for you two! Look at me; I did this! Call me Cupid Ryo, makes matches made in heaven. Maybe I should set up a dating agency once our Coldrain days are over. Cupid Ryo has a ring to it."

"You're such an idiot, Ry." Kat giggled, slapping his arm lightly.

"Well, that's nothing new. I'm happy for you both seriously. Congratulations."

"Thanks, bro. Anyway, we got to go pick up some things the doctor prescribed for Kat; then, this one needs to get some rest before her trip. I'll see you bright and early on Thursday?"

"Sure. Catch you later." Ryo smiled, pulling us in for another hug before we said our goodbyes and left.

"You happy, baby?" I asked Kat as she sat, straddling me on the couch.

"I am, I can't believe we're going to be parents! Honestly, there was a little part of me that was worried it wouldn't happen."

"Well, now you got our little nugget in there. Maybe, we might be able to have two of our own before time runs out after all." I smiled as I softly poked my finger to her stomach.

"All right, one at a time, babe." She giggled as she wrapped her arms around my neck. "Are you happy?"

"I'm more than happy, although I do wish I'd be able to be around more for the pregnancy and the baby's first year." I sighed, my heart sinking a little in my chest.

"I'm sure between us and the label arrangements can be made to have you around as much as possible. I mean, the video shoots and album don't have to be recorded outside of Japan, right?"

"No, unless they've already booked and paid for them, which I don't think they have just yet. As long as I tell Yoshi as soon as possible, they could work something out. It's more the pregnancy, though. I want to be here to take care of you while you're busy looking after our little nugget in there."

"I'll be fine, babe. I'll have my Aunt, uncle, your parents, Atsumi, and I'm sure Sony will make sure I'm taken care of too. And I'm sure Akrio will help in his own, dog-like way. Don't worry about me and nugget."

"I love you, so much, Kat."

"And I love you." She smiled softly before she brought her lips to mine.

My hands rested delicately against her hips as her tongue smoothed against my lips. My lips parted without hesitation as she lured me into a kiss that grew hot and heavy. Our tongues connected and found a perfect rhythm as her hips rolled against mine.

"Shit, Kat, what are you doing?" I moaned as she moved her lips to my jaw, peppering kisses along it.

"Well, you're home, I missed you, but we only have today and tomorrow given I leave for Tokyo early on Wednesday. So, I want to make the most of having you while I can."

"But the baby..."

Kat pulled away, looking at me deadpan and with a brow raised, "I'm one hundred percent certain, the baby will be fine. Besides soon, I'll be all fat and pregnant. Then I'll just be fat with stretchmarks everywhere. Babies are notoriously known for destroying their mothers once hot bodies."

"Koneko, trust me when I say, nothing will ever make me think you're anything less than the sexiest, hottest and prettiest woman I could ever see. And even if you end up with stretch marks, and you're wearing yoga pants, a baggy top with spit up on and your hair a complete mess? You'll still be the most beautiful thing to me. You'll rock the messy, tired mother look more than anyone could, and I'll still want to have my wicked way with you any chance the baby allows."

"Okay, say that when that happens, and I look like I've been dragged through a hedge backward because I haven't slept in two days."

"I'll tell you every day, just like I do now." I smiled as I pressed a small, tender kiss to her lips.

"Now seriously, you have a choice, either have your wicked way with me, or I'll go to our room, get the vibrator and do it myself. Either way, I'm pretty freaking horny right now."

I couldn't help but laugh as she tried to look at me so seriously but failed at suppressing the grin that wanted to break out on her lips.

"As my Koneko wishes."
