I think I'm in love

"You'll see."

After school ended, I went to the locker room to put my books back. I could still remember what Stella said.
"You'll see," she had said.
The words rang in my mind for the rest of the day. I hadn't talked to Stella much.
I was walking to the locker room. She was there.
"Hey, Stella," I greeted.
"Hey," she replied.
"Do you have anything special planned with David tonight?" I asked her, winking at her.
"Yeah, we have a date tonight." She seemed quite bored.
"Anything else?" I waited. She sighed.
"It's a double date."
"With who?" She answered immediately.
"You." Me?
"I'm gonna be alone?" She faced me.
"No, Jacob is coming." I was shocked.
That's what she meant by
"You'll see."
"Jacob!" She invited Jacob. Jacob was him. "Is that what you meant by-" She cut me off, but I expected her to know what I meant.
"Yes," she replied. I checked my phone. 4:34 PM.
"I should go home now," I admitted. She walked over to me and hugged me. I hugged her back.
By the time I got home, Mom was already cooking dinner. As soon as I entered the kitchen, the wonderful smell of food filled my nostrils.
"Hey, honey," she called from the kitchen.
"Hey, Mom," I called back. I went into the kitchen and found her cooking pasta.
Her blond hair was in a messy bun, and her sleeves were rolled up to her elbows. Her brown eyes shone when she looked at me.
"Did anything exciting happen in school today?" she asked curiously.
"Uh, sort of," I admitted. She stopped what she was doing and looked at me straight in the eyes.
"What happened?" she asked.
"I'm going on a double date with Stella, David and..." I stopped. She didn't really know about my crush on Jacob.
"And?" Her eyes begged me to continue.
"Jacob." I sighed in defeat.
"The new kid?"
"Yeah. The date is tonight at 9:00." There was a moment of silence.
"And you like him?" she asked.
"Yeah?" I said in embarrassment.
"Then let's get you ready for you date!"
We walked upstairs and Mom closed the door.
