On my way

Mom burst into my room, ruining my "much wow" moment.
"Hayley, what are you doing? Come over here!"
I put down my phone and walked over to her. She led me to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. First, she dried my hair, then she put it into a high ponytail. She did my makeup quickly and gave me some white high-heels.
Hayley: hey Jacob it's Hayley. yeah, i am coming to the party. why?
I had a few minutes left before I had to go to David's house. I wondered if he was going to ask me. I quickly added him to my contacts so that I wouldn't forget to do it later.
Jacob: just asking. cya there
Hayley: cya
I was a bit disappointed, but what could I do? I couldn't ask him, because that was just not how it was. Besides, it would be awkward.
I stepped outside the door, immediately getting goosebumps. It was almost winter, so the cold was coming.
I stepped into the car and shut the door. Mom came in a moment later. She started the car and started driving. I breathed in a shaky breath.
"You nervous?" she asked.
"A little."
"Don't worry. I'm sure you'll get to dance with Jacob.
"But Mom, I don't know how to dance!"
"Ask Stella. She'll give you a one-minute lesson and you'll be good to go."
I sighed and waited for the car ride to end.
Hayley: hey Stella it's me. are you there yet?
Stella: yeah. most of the people are here already. party's about to start. where are you?
Hayley: i'm on my way. do we have to slow dance?
Stella: yeah. im dancing with david. you?
Hayley: i don't know. I hope it's Jacob
Stella: cross my fingers! :)
Hayley: i gotta go. my mom wants to chat. cya there
She didn't answer. She was probably dancing or partying. I waited and waited.
When I arrived in front of the big house, the first thing I saw sent a shiver down my spine. It was Livy. And Jacob. Standing on the doorway. They were probably waiting for me, but that didn't matter. Livy had her arm on Jacob's waist.
