"I can't dance."

I stepped out of the car, into the cold.
"Hayley!" Jacob called. He gestured for me to go inside. I said goodbye to Mom and went inside.
It was amazing inside. The decorations? Best I'd ever seen. The light was dim, but not too dim. It was the romantic kind of dim. There were 2 buffet tables in the corner and a big disco ball hanging from the ceiling, spinning. People were scattered on the dance floor, dancing like there was no tomorrow. Stella spotted me and ran to me.
"Hayley, beautiful as always," she said with a smile.
"Look who's talking. Stella, you look great!" I complimented. She was wearing a strapless dark blue dress, which kind of looked like mine. She had gotten a haircut, so her hair just reached a bit below her collarbone. Her hair was straight and then curly at the bottom. She was wearing navy blue high heels. "Love the new hair," I added.
"Thank you," she answered, still smiling. "I got it cut today."
I sneaked a glance at David.
"Did you dance with David yet? Like, slow dance?"
"No. No one danced with anybody yet."
"Why?" I asked.
"Dunno. He said there's a big surprise, then we can slow dance." She shrugged. She grabbed my hand. "Let's go party like we just don't care." She grinned and pulled me into the dance floor.
"Stella, you know I suck at dancing," I told her as she pulled me further into the dance floor.
"Who cares? It's a party. We should party." She started dancing, then looked at my confused expression. "Just do what I do."
I copied her movements. Turned out, dancing wasn't as bad as I thought. I stopped dancing when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around.
"Jake!" I said with a smile. He grinned at me. "What are you doing here?"
"Same thing as you. I'm attending David's party." I rolled my eyes.
"I mean, what are you doing here? With me? Aren't you supposed to be with your bros or something?"
"I don't have to be with them."
Behind me, I heard Stella whisper, "Good luck," in my ear. She probably left me.
"Care to dance with me?" He held out his hand to me.
"I can't dance." I bit my bottom lip.
"It's easy. Put your hands around my neck." I put my hands around his neck. He put both of his hands around my waist and pulled me close to him. My heart started beating faster. A lot faster. "And then just move left, right. Slowly. There, you got it."
I couldn't believe it. I was slow dancing with Jacob. This was the most perfect moment I'd had in my whole life. I dared myself to ask the question I would've never, ever, asked.
"Who do you like?"
