A/N: Sorry about the new cover guys 😂. Honestly, I'm not good at making them.
I hope you're enjoying my story!
My hair was a jungle when I woke up. Thank god it was Friday. Finally.
I was still thinking about what happened last night with Jacob. Such a perfect moment.
I continued my usual morning routine: quick shower, dressing up, breakfast, hair and makeup.
I looked at the weather. Ugh. It was raining again. I biked to school.
I parked and locked my bike as fast as I could and sped to the locker room. I got there and opened my locker. It was only me in the locker room. Until Jacob came.
I thought again of the perfect moment that seemed to come out of a fairy tale book. My cheeks instantly turned red. My face was burning.
"Wet, much?" Stella asked as I approached her and some other friends just outside of the math room. I stuck my tongue out at her.
"What's up, Hayle?" David asked, one of his arms around Stella's shoulders.
"The ceiling," I replied sarcastically. Jacob arrived. I froze on my spot. I held my breath. I looked straight forward.
A few seconds had passed.
"Um, Hayley?" Stella asked worriedly. My head turned in her direction and I looked at her, my body still frozen on the spot. "You forgot to breathe," she told me.
"Oh," I said, but I didn't really have the breath to. I exhaled a long, loud breath. I sat next to Stella. "What happened with you and David yesterday?" I asked her. She came closer to me.
"Well," she began, "he said he loved me and he kissed me. You know, the usual stuff." I nodded as she said everything. There was a moment of silence. "Enough about me," she said. "Tell me about you and Jake."
"Jake?"
"Jacob. We're friends."
"Seriously? I asked.
"Back to the point. What happened? Tell me everything." I positioned myself so that I was looking at her.
"I told him I was leaving-"
"Why were you leaving?" she interrupted me. I gave her the death stare. "Sorry. Please, continue."
"So, I told him I was leaving and he insisted that I shouldn't. I started to turn away, then he grabbed my arm." Stella waited.
"And?"
"He told me he had a great time, and that we should go out again sometime." We sat there in silence until we could get into the math room.
When class started, I couldn't concentrate. I could only make a lists of reasons for Jacob and Stella being friends.
I was surprised I actually made it through math class without having to solve a complicated equation. My stomach was already growling for food, even though I'd eaten an hour before math class.
I walked to the cafeteria alone that day. Stella and David were probably already there.
When I entered the big room full of hungry people, I looked around for Stella and David. They were sitting in the far corner of the room with Jacob. Stella saw me and waved at me to come over. Jacob saw me and patted the empty space next to him. Hesitantly, I made my way through the sea of people towards my friends.
