Snowman - John

"Mummy! Daddy! Look!" Our son, Jordan ran into our bedroom and started jumping on the small bit of bed between me and my husband, John.

"What's up bud?" I heard John say. I was quietly groaning and desperately squeezing my eyes shut

"It's snowed!" He said ecstatically

"Has it?" John usually did this game where he won't believe Jordan

"Yes daddy! Open the curtains!" Jordan whined

"Don't you dare" I mumbled

"Sorry love, I can't hear you" John giggled before flinging the curtains open, "Wow Jord! You were right!"

"Joooooohn!" I squinted to see the two figures of my favourite boys. I couldn't be mad at them, they were too cute with their matching poofy hair

"Jordan, how about you go and put some winter clothes on, and then I'll take you into the garden" John said and the next thing I heard were tiny feet running away

"Thank you" I said after John shut the curtains

I then felt the bed dip next to me and John's breath on my cheek.

"Love you, sweet dreams" he pecked my cheek before getting up and exiting the room

I heard both of my early birds getting ready and then I must of dozed off again. The next thing I knew I woke up again, this time on my own accord. I got up and got dressed into some jeans and a long sleeved striped t-shirt. I walked down to the kitchen to make myself a cup of much needed coffee but got distracted when I looked out of the window.

John was lifting Jordan up so he could put coal on the snowman's face. I saw John put him down and then whispered something into Jordan's ear. The next thing I knew there was a knock on the back door.

I opened it up to be greeted by a little Jordan.

"Mummy!" He grinned, "Look at Steve the snowman!" He then pointed over to John and the snowman. John looked incredibly proud of his creation.

"Oh wow!" I exaggerated my words

"Mummy do we have a carrot?" He quizzed with furrowed brows

"Let me see" I went off to the kitchen, found a carrot in the fridge, and went back to my impatient boy, "here we go"

"Thanks!" He shouted as he ran back to the snowman

I watched him from the doorway before I felt a cold hand on my face.

"John!" I squealed, "I didn't see you there" I giggled

"Give me a kiss" he said before leaning in, not giving me time to answer. His cold blue lips touched my warm lips and I squealed again when he put his cold hands up my shirt

"John!" I pushed his hands away, leaving him giggling

"Daddy help me put the carrot on!" Jordan shouted

"Go on then Daddy, Steve can't have a nose-less face" I smirked

"No he can't!" He raised his eyebrows before trudging off in the snow.

I retreated back to the warmth of the kitchen and watched my two boys from the window. Every now and then, Jordan would wave and John would blow a kiss which made my heart melt.

John is so good with Jordan, always playing games and having fun. Right now they were having a snowball fight, and to be honest I think Jordan is winning. John picked our 6 year old up and dropped him on to a massive pile of snow which had collected near the house. All I could hear we John's laughs and Jordan's giggling.

I then heard a knock on the front door so I went to see who it was. I opened the large black door to find the little boy, Owen, who lives next door. He was a year above Jordan but they were still best friends and always at each other's houses playing trains or explorers.

"Good morning Mrs Deacon, can Jordan come sledging with me and my Dad?" The blue eyed boy asked so politely

"I'll just get him love, hold on" I smiled before going to find Jordan in the garden

Of course, Jordan jumped at the opportunity to go and play with his friend. Before I knew it, Jordan was skipping down the road.

"Love?" John said as he reached the back door

"Yeah?" I quizzed

"I may need help" John grinned, "I've got so many layers on, I can't move. The cold has made me stiff too" he tried to reach his boots with no success

I untied his boots and tore his coat off of him in a bit of a tug-of-war way.

"Better?" I raised an eyebrow in question

"My hands and my nose is cold" John took a step closer to me

"Don't you dare, not again!"" I pointed at him

"What do you mean?" He smirked, taking bigger steps now

"John! No!" I squealed as I ran off into the living room and dived under a blanket

John plodded in and ripped the blanket off me and put his hands on my bare skin.

"Gotcha!" He giggled

"No!!!" I pushed him back and grabbed hold of his wrists

"Sorry" John said with a grin, not apologetic at all

We were sat there, face to face, our hands as far away from my body as possible. John pulled a kissing face so I leaned in. Just as I was about to kiss his lip, he ducked to the side and put his freezing cold nose on my cheek.

"John!" I wrapped my arms around him and dragged him down. We ended up just cuddling on the sofa, under the blanket John had previously threw on the floor.
