Cooking disaster - Roger

This was my and Roger's first Christmas together as a married couple. We got married back in August and it was the most perfect day. It was only small, family and close friends, but it was the best day of my life. After the wedding we had a bit of a disco, I was on the dance floor all night (along with Deaky) but Roger got a bit tired and had a try at being the DJ. Basically, he put 'I'm in love with my car' on and Freddie tackled him to the ground as we all stood there laughing. I don't think I've ever heard Brian laugh so hard in my life!

Anyway, now it is Christmas time and we are preparing the house for the boys to come over and have Christmas dinner. Roger has set the table with all the decorations he had bought bought last week. He is now helping me in the kitchen before all the guests arrive. By guests I mean the band. We had John, Freddie, and Brian coming over so tonight was going to be a fun night.

"I'll get the door!" Roger said after he heard the doorbell go

"Ok" I said, getting a bit stressed out with the sprouts

I listened as I heard Roger run off and open the door. I heard voices but due to the distance from the kitchen to the front door I couldn't make out who it was.

"Love, Brian's here!" Roger shouted

I put everything down to go and greet the curly haired guitarist.

"Hello Brian. It's great to see you!" I gave him a hug

"And you. Dinner smells good" Brian sniffed the air

"Speaking of which, I should probably get back to it" I grinned before making my way back to the kitchen

After a while in the kitchen I felt two hands slip around my waist.

"Hey" Roger whispered

"Don't do that, you made me jump" I giggled

"I know, I felt it" he chuckled

"What do you want Mr Taylor" I smirked

"Go enjoy yourself, I'll take over with the cooking" Roger said

"You're kidding right?" I tilted my head

"No! Go on, have a drink, I've got it covered" Roger nodded

"The turkey needs to come out in an hour, the vegetables just have to be cooked. Oh! The gravy, that's-" I was cut off my Roger kissing me

"I've got it" Roger reassured me. Just then, the doorbell went, "you better let them in, their late as it is"

"Ok. Love you" I said as I left the kitchen

I walked to the front door and opened it up to find the two missing band members looking pretty flustered.

"Better late then never boys" I sassed

"Don't get him started, he's been complaining the whole way here!" Freddie shook his head as he barged into the house

"Care to explain?" I asked John. Me and John were friends before Queen were even formed, before Smile was even formed! That is how me and Roger met, all thanks to John. So yes, me and John have been best friends all through school, we tell each other everything, and I can get away with insulting him. But I can assure you, he gives as good as he gets with the insults!

"I went to pick Freddie up and he just got out of bed. You know how long it takes him!" John smiled before giving me a warm hug, "How are you? I haven't seen you in ages"

"I'm great" I gave him a squeeze

"Good. Now, what do I have to do around here to get a drink?" John smirked

"Nothing, you've deserved it" I laughed, knowing how eventful his morning with Freddie must've been

Me, Brian, Freddie, and John were sat in the living room having drinks and making fun of Freddie being late. All of a sudden we heard a massive crash followed by an, "oh crap"

"Roger! What did you do?" Freddie shouted

"Um" Roger poked his head around the corner, "Love, can you come here a sec" his cheeks flushed red

"Uh oh!" Brian teased

I followed Roger into the kitchen. Well, I say kitchen, it now looks like a war zone.

"How the hell did you manage this?" I asked in disbelief. The turkey was black and thrown onto the counter. All the vegetables that were in pots were now pretty much everywhere.

"The gravy is ok" Roger pointed to the jug of gravy

"Rog we can't just eat gravy!" I screeched

"I'm sorry! The turkey got burnt and I went to just hit my hand on the counter but I caught the handle on the pot. And- and it went flying. I'm sorry" Roger was nearly in tears

"Hey it's alright" I quickly shut the door to give us some alone time before I gave him a hug

"You're mad at me" Roger mumbled

"I'm not Rog, trust me" I gave him a kiss

"I suppose I better order pizza" Roger said as we parted from our kiss

Even though our Christmas dinner didn't go to plan, it was the best I have ever had. Sure, I would've preferred roast turkey but pizza with the boys was just as good. We spent the rest of the evening cracking jokes, playing games, and singing really loudly. By the end of the night we had all forgotten about the kitchen blunder, either because we were distracted or because we had a teeny tiny bit of alcohol.
