In a boarding school, just on the edge of a small town in Virginia. One Charlotte Forbes was busying herself with paperwork, trying to find a way to waste time since her two daughters were in Venice along with her twin sister and everyone else, she tolerated was too busy.
Scratch that, maybe not everyone. Charlotte thought as Alaric barged into her office with a dopey smile.
"Hi Ric" She mumbled as she read through the updated terms and agreements her lawyers had typed up for the sponsors of the school.
The older man had clumsily plopped himself down on the chair opposite from his baby mama, his head leaning back as he purposefully yawned noisily to get a reaction from the blonde.
It worked as she tightened her grip on the document and paused her reading to glare at him.
Success!
"Hey Lottie" He smirked.
Charlotte rolled her eyes and continued to read. "What do you want Alaric?"
"Oof, full name already? I just came in." Ric playfully pouted, placing one hand on his chest in offence. Once again, the blonde rolled her eyes. "You have a very special gift of bringing the worst out of me." She retorted, with a very fake, sickly sweet smile.
The ex-hunter pouted and childishly crossed his arms. "You're rude! To think I was going to invite you for some dinn-"
Before Ric could even finish his sentence, Charlotte disappeared, a flash of wind, blowing the brunet's hair back. "Well, are we going or not?" It took a lot of will to stifle his laughter as he turned around to see Lottie already wearing her jacket, impatiently tapping her feet on the ground, waiting at the door for him.
Instead, he groaned as he looked at her accessory, rather, the lack of it. "Am I payi-"
"You're paying." She interrupted, answering his unfinished question.
"Why do I even bother."
Luckily for the two, it was dinner for the residential students, they were already in the school hall or cafeteria and there were no problems brewing so after putting Dorian and Emma in charge, Charlotte and Ric agreed that dinner would be at The Grill.
After a short car ride, the two made it into the bar/restaurant, heads turning to them when they enter due to the amount of noise, they were making due to their laughter and giggles.
Everyone knew who they were, how could they not?
Opting for the bar instead of the booth, they ordered their dinner along with their drinks, which, of course, was alcoholic. They talked and talked whether it was about themselves, jokes about the other one or the school, they talked about anything and everything. The thing with this pair of friends, with everything they have gone through, had only brought them closer, they were each other's rocks and god did they co-parent amazingly.
