CHAPTER 2
An Unusual Day
As soon as I heard the knock, I went out of the bed and noticed I haven’t even changed my clothes. I changed first before I went down. I still can’t forget that dream. I sat down at the table with my mom.
She asked me, “What’s your problem Amy?”
“Nothing. I can’t just forget my dream.” I answered.
“What dream? What are you talking about?”
“Oh, forget it. I’m okay.” I said but she wasn’t contented on my answer. She can read my emotions.
I hurriedly finished my food. I took a shower and id all my assignments before I went to bed. I still couldn’t forget that dream. As I lay down, I wish I could have dream again.
I woke up in the morning, but nothing happened. I didn’t have any dreams so my questions weren’t answered. I took a bath and wore my clothes and looked at the mirror.
I combed my hair and put my eye glasses to see more clearly. Then I went down.
I ate my breakfast alone because my mom leaves early for her work.
I arrived at school and noticed someone was looking at me. I went to find her, but she was gone. She doesn’t look like a student.
As I walk to our classroom, I still can’t forget that guy who talked to me in my dream.
“There’s a war going on here.” His voice rang in my mind.
What war? And what kind of war has people and the monsters fighting? That doesn’t seem normal. Monsters can’t be true, especially people with supernatural powers.
I got inside the classroom. As usual, everyone is staring at me like I have done something wrong. I just went to my seat at the corner.
“Look, it’s the freak!” Tracy, one of the girls, said pointing at me.
Then everyone laughed at me.
“She doesn’t belong here.” Mike said and everyone laughed louder.
That’s a reason why I don’t want to go to school early. They will all just laugh at me.
“She’s so ugly” one of them said.
“No, she’s not ugly” Mary said. “She’s very very ugly. The eyeglasses and the braces make her look uglier.”
The room was filled with their loud giggles as they teased me.
I can’t control my temper. I was ready to stand and defend myself when somebody got inside. It was the lady I saw before. The principal, Mr. Ethan, also got in.
“Good morning” Mr. Ethan said.
“Good morning, Sir” all of us greeted.
“Your English teacher just takes a leave for a while because of her bad health condition. She needs to rest.” Mr. Ethan said. “But here is your new teacher.”
The lady stepped forward and introduced herself.
“Good morning students” she said. “I’m Sheryll Lee, the substitute teacher.”
