Her Past

Chae Rim's POV

"I want to be your protector."

"H-huh? Hahahahah" I can't help but laugh.
"Why?" Huni said with his eyebrows crossed.
"You don't even want to pay my ramen! How could you be my protector?"
"Well, that's not a protector's job."
"Pabo ya! You said I'm a trouble myself. Do you want to get in trouble?"
"I think being your friend is worse."
"What?"
"Look at shorty. He is like your slave."
"Hey, who are you calling shorty?! Besides, I do that because I want to!"
"Whatever."
"Hahaha. Okay... okay... I get it now." I can't help but to laugh with these idiots.
"Ne, Huni." He looked at me seriously.
"Kansahamnida."
"Tsss...whatever."
We then walked together until we reached my house.

"See you tomorrow guys! Thank you for today!"
"Bye Chae Rim."
Sehun just nodded.
I smiled and entered the gate. What a great day! I found a new great though cold guy!

Sehun's POV

I watched her walked through their gate while skipping.

"Shorty..."
"Who the hell you're calling shorty?"
"Who else but you?"
"Aish!"
"I just want to know something."
"I think I know what."
I turned to him and said, "let's go to a park first."

When we came to the grassy park, I laid down on the grass while he sit. Then he started telling about the past .

"Chae Rim and I have been friends since middle school. It started when we were in prep and some of our classmates were bullying me because I was fat. One time, they went far and bullied me physically. They kept on pushing me against the ground. Being weak, I didn't do anything but cry."

I closed my eyes as he continued his story.

"Then, she came and asked the guys to stop. She even fought them with bare hands as though she can handle them. The ending, we were both bruised and messed up as we went home. We can barely walk that day. There, she promised that she will always protect me no matter what."

I slowly opened my eyes. That's the reason why they are so close.

"When we got to her house, she was welcomed by her brothers but they all went angry when they saw the condition we were in, the 3 of them immediately went to school and the other one tended our wounds."

"Brothers? How about her parents?"

"Her father died in a car accident when she was still a baby. She lost her mother when she was still 2 years old because of an illness. Only her four brothers are left of her that's why she's being treated like a princess."

"Oh, I see."

"Her three brothers searched for the ones who bullied us. They confronted and even blackmailed them that if they will not stop the bullying, they will do the same to them."

"Her brothers are scary."

"If you only meet them, I think you will know the meaning of terror in your life."

"Jinjja?"

"Yes."

"What happened after the confrontation?".

"When we went to school the day after the incident, our classmates, even her friends, started to avoid her. They acted as if she isn't there, and even talked evil things about her. The friends she trusted even backstabbed her, saying she was as evil as her brothers.  She could not contain her sadness, she ran away and cried as much as she can."

I hated to hear that part. I really did not know she was hurt that much. I was so insensitive.

"Even now that we are in high school, she really did not have too much friends, not because of her brothers, but because she is afraid that they will leave and betray her again."

"That was the reason why I am still with her at this moment. I promised her that I will never leave her side, no matter what happens just like what she did to me. I will never be like her friends who left her."

I looked at him and he looked so happy yet sad.

"So Sehun, if you really want to be her protector, you should never leave her. It would break her heart. And I swear I will never forgive you."

I looked away. "Tsss... you don't have to remind me. I don't have an intention to run away. I'm a man of my words."

"Jinjja? That's good then."

I swear. I will not let that happen again.

"Baozi?"

A man with yoda ears and big eyes came.
"Chanyeol-ssi! Annyeong haseyo!" Minseok bowed his head.
The man named Chanyeol turned around as if looking for someone. "Where's my sister?"
"She already is at your house."
"Jinjja. Good then. Thanks for accompanying her."
Minseok blushes "Don't mind it."
"Okay, bye."
"Okay. Bye. Kansahamnida."
The man looked at me from head to toe then left. What seems to be his problem?

"Is that Rim's brother?"
"Ne. The second oldest."
"He really is scary. He looks like be doesn't like me."
"Ah, yeah. They are always like that to people. "
"And you?"
"No... they are nice to me." Minseok proudly said.
"It's because you are their sisters's dog."
"At least I haven't make her cry even for once."
I crossed my brows. "Tss. It'll never happen again."
"If thay's what you say. Ne, it's going late. See you in school tomorrow?"
"Yah. Annyeong."

I stayed still until he was lost in my sight. I didn't know that such a brave and mischievous girl has this kind of past.

She is not the problem. The people around her are the trouble.

Life really is unfair.

At Chae Rim's house.

Chanyeol's POV

"I'm home!"

"Hyung!!!" Chae Rim welcomed me with hug.

"How's your day, Princess?"

"It was great!"

"So great that she was singing when she walked in." Baekhyun said with a tone of tease in his voice.

"Okay then. I will not sing a song anymore." She puffed her cheeks and looks so annoyed.

I messed with her hair. "I saw Baozi with an unfamiliar guy in the park. Is he his boyfriend?"

"Hyung! Minseokie is not gay!"

"Haha. I'm just joking."

"The guy you are talking about is the transferee. And he  is the reason why my day is great!"

1, 2, 3.......

"WHAT???!!!"

Chae Rim's POV

I think I hurt my ears. My hyungs suddenly stopped from whatever they are doing and seems like they've frozen in place and looking at me with a surprised look.

"M-Mworago? Can you repeat that?" - Baek hyung asked approaching me
"D-Did I say something wrong?"
"You say that guy made your day great? How?"- Chanyeol hyung asked with widening eyes
"Why Rim? Is he your boyfriend?" Suho hyung said putting down his glasses.
"Boyfriend? You're too young for that!" Soo hyung said with scary face.

I let out a sigh then rolled my eyes. These hyungs really...

"Aigoo! What are you saying? He is just a new friend! That's it!"
"A transferee yet he became your friend right away? Isn't that suspicious?" Yeol hyung said.
Among my brothers, Yeollie hyung is the most protective one. He always suspects whoever comes close to me.
"Ani, hyung. It turned out that he was the one who we helped against the gangsters."
"Doesn't that mean he is a trouble magnet?" Soo hyung said.
"He said I'm the same." I casually said.
"He said that? That jerk!" Yeollie hyung is really mad.
" Agh! Hyung, he's a good person. Don't judge him."
"I don't think so. I saw him a while ago and he looks like a gangster."
"Calm down, Chan Yeol. Isn't it great that aside from Baozi, uri Chae Rim has another friend now?" -Suho hyung said. Awww... I was touched.
"Gomawo hyung!" I rushed to hug Suho hyung.
"Suho hyung! We should not be relaxed."
"Then, why don't we invite him tomorrow? Right, Rim?"
"Ne!" I happily answered.

I'm so excited for tomorrow!
