Kai's POV

"MWORAGO??!?" I heard Appa yelled at whoever the caller on his phone was.

I was about to enter the study room when I passed by Appa's office. In the Huang Mansion, Appa has his own office where he finishes his paperworks from the corporation.

I calmly entered his office and sat down on a couch. Maybe his caller was just another employee who failed to do his job.

I observed Appa's motions intensely. He looked like he's gonna break down any moment. His jaw dropped and he had an unbelievingly shocked face.

I immediately stood up to approach him. His phone was still on his ears.

"D-Detective, I-I need to talk to you right now. I-I need to..." Appa's tears started to fall. Detective?

I caressed his back as he cried although my heart thumps fast with the actions he's making.

Was the call really that important?

"I'll wait for you here." He said then ended the call. Then he cried on his hands. I softly tapped his back trying to calm him down.

"A-Appa? What was that? W-Why are you crying?"

He did not answer. But he went to the table where our family picture was placed. A picture where Mei was still 3 years old with Eomma.

"K-Kai...." His voice cracked as he spoke. He softly touched Mei's face on the picture. Then he turned to look at me with tears all over his cheeks.

"Your sister is alive."

Huang Zi Xiu's POV

Twelve years, twelve years has passed but still, I did not lose hope in searching for Mei's body to give her a proper burial.

I didn't care if it would just be ashes, or any other remains of her body, as long as it will be recovered.

Every night, I was still dreaming of how she looked, how she talked, and how she sang and played.

I even hired different people from various agencies to help in identifying Mei's body from the remains in the explosion. I asked them to search the whole place for the remains and not to leave a single ash or dirt behind from the car incident.

And after twelve years, an answer has been found.

****Flashback****

The phone rang and registered the detective's number that I hired.

"Yoboseyo?"

"Uijang-nim, I have a very important report for you... the search and inspecting team has successfully identified the persons involved in the accident."

My eyes widened at his report. My heart beat fast and I was delighted.

"Were you able to recover my daughter's remains?" I asked with a hope in my heart.

"A-Anieyo, Uijang-nim." My heart sunk with the bad news.

"How come you were able to recover the criminal's remains but not my daughters?!?" I can't help but to express my frustration.

"It's because... there were no remains that were from your daughter, Uijang-nim."

"W-What do you mean?"

"There's a possibility... no, there is an assurance that your daughter is still alive."
