Chapter 4: Memories

A few years later, Amy, Crystal, and Pearl were all in college on earth. They shared a house down the street from the campus. They each had their own room in the three-story house, a kitchen, living room, 4 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, a game room, and an indoor theater and bar. Around 4am, the three were asleep upstairs on the 2nd floor. Pearl woke up feeling a little sick, so she went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. She heard a knock on the front door. 'Who could that be at this hour? It's 4 in the morning man!' she thought. "Coming..." she moaned. She slowly walked to the door with one hand on her stomach. She unlocked the door and opened it. There, stood 3 boys. A boy with midnight black hair and bright red eyes, a boy with black to red hair and heterochromia, meaning 2 different colored eyes, one eye ocean blue the other bright red like the 1st boy. The last boy had red hair and medium brown eyes.

"Um, excuse us for coming so early in the morning but, we go to your college. I'm Luke, the red haired boy is Parker and the other one is Adrian," the boy with black and red hair said, "You and the other two girls you hang out with look familiar."

"You mean my sisters? What makes us so familiar, mister?" Pearl asked.

"You look like our childhood friends," Parker said.

"Would you mind if we came inside?" Luke asked.

"Uh, maybe later around 7... Amy and Crystal are asleep and I feel a bit sick. Come back then... Okay?" Pearl said. Luke nodded and told Adrian and Parker to go home and meet back at his place in 2½ hours. Pearl shut the door and locked it back up. She went back to the kitchen, finished her water, and went back upstairs to go to sleep.

At 6 in the morning, Crystal was up making breakfast. "Morning, Pearl!" She said as Pearl came downstairs, rubbing her eyes.

"Morning..." Pearl yawned, "Oh, make double for breakfast, okay?"

"What? Why?"

"Some boys came by a couple hours ago, I told them to come back at 7 to talk. They said we look like their childhood friends or something."

"Weird... oh well... fine." Crystal went to the fridge to get some more eggs and the milk and put them on the counter.

"Morning, Amethyst," Pearl said.

"Morning. What's for breakfast, Crystal?" Amy asked.

"Eggs, bacon or sausage, and toast," Crystal replied.

"Mmm, smells good. You're probably the best cook out of the three of us," Amy said.

"Hahaha thanks." The doorbell rang and Amy went to answer the door.

"Who is it?" she asked.

"Amethyst?" Parker said. Amethyst looked at him confused. Pearl saw the boys at the door and ran over from the bar in the kitchen.

"Come in," She said, pulling her sister gently aside to make room for the boys to enter, "Crystal, these are the boys I told you about."

"Ah, well then, good thing you told me to make double food. Have you three eaten?" Crystal asked.

"No, we haven't," Luke said.

"Well, let's sit down. You three explain to them what you told me earlier," Pearl said. As everyone gathered in the kitchen, the boys started to explain everything. They said that they were friends with the sisters before they were kidnapped. Their parents would often meet up because they were friends. Luke has a brother, Adrian has 2 younger sisters and an older brother, and Parker is an only child. They would hang out every day and when the 3 girls were kidnapped, they remember crying for a long time. Adrian pulled out a picture of the 6 together at 2 year olds. In the photo Adrian showed, the three sisters had a flashback of that day. Crystal was on Luke's shoulders covering his eyes in a white dress and black flats and her hair in a curly ponytail. Pearl was on Adrian's shoulders, high fiving Amethyst with her right hand and making a peace sign with the other hand, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie with red shoes with her hair down. Amethyst was on the ground wearing a white shirt, red skirt, and black boots, high fiving Pearl with her left hand, her right hand down to her side and her hair in pigtails.

As for the boys, Adrian was holding Pearl's legs to keep her balanced, looking up at her. He had longer hair with darker red eyes, a jean jacket, black pants, and blue shoes. Luke was wearing a dark purple hoodie around his waist, black shoes, and jeans and his eyes were ocean blue, no bright red eye. He was holding Crystal's wrists, trying to get her to let him see. Parker was behind Amethyst with one hand on her shoulder. He had light brown eyes and he was wearing a red jacket, white shirt, medium grey pants, and black shoes.

After the flashback had ended, the girls looked at each other, still confused. They still don't remember ever meeting the boys beforehand. "We're sorry, but we can't recall ever meeting you three," Amethyst said.

"Yeah, if we were friends, maybe we can be friends again. We just have to start over. Sound good?" Crystal said. The 3 boys looked down but smiled a little and nodded.

"Okay... deal," Luke said.

"Well, since we have a few minutes before school, let's try getting to know each other again. I'm sure the interests you remember us having as toddlers have gone away," Pearl said. They all started to talk, but Adrian stayed quiet.

"Why so quiet over there?" Crystal asked. Adrian shrugged and looked away from the group. He then whispered to Luke and Luke whispered the same thing to Parker.

"We have to go, see you in school," Parker said. The boys got up from their seats and so did the girls. Adrian rushed to the door while Luke hugged Crystal and Parker hugged Amy. While the four said goodbye, Pearl walked to Adrian and opened the door for him.

"See you later, Adrian," She said, waving as he walked out. He turned around and slightly waved back. He hadn't smiled at all since they had been inside. Luke and Parker rushed out the door waving bye to the three girls. They ran up to Adrian, trying to catch up with him.

"Let's get ready for school guys," Pearl said. Her sisters nodded and started to run upstairs as Pearl shut the door. Pearl was about to turn around when her head started to hurt. Her eyes turned white as she started to slightly remember the past before getting taken away. She saw Adrian as a kid, he was smiling. He started to laugh as she saw herself making funny faces at him, joking around in a playground on earth. Her eyes turned back to their blue color and she turned around. Her head still hurt, but she had pills in her room for the problem, so she ran upstairs and went to her room. She took the headache pills, got dressed, grabbed her backpack and binder, and then ran back downstairs. Amy was downstairs washing the dishes before they left. "Amy? I think I'm starting to remember them," Pearl said.

"You are? I guess that's a good thing! What did your flashback see?" Amy asked.

"I saw Adrian, smiling and laughing. I saw myself, joking around making him laugh. It was here, on earth, in a playground," Pearl explained.

"Hmm... what playground?" Amy asked.

"I don't know but it was a playground," Pearl said.

"Well, the boys will be happy you started to remember,"

"Yeah... I guess so... but I only saw Adrian, not Luke or Parker anywhere,"

"Well, it's better than nothing I suppose, right?"

"I guess so... where's Crystal?"

"Trying to find an outfit to wear,"

"Ugh, I'll help her out. We'll be down in 10 minutes,"

"Okay," Pearl ran upstairs and knocked on Crystal's door.

"Need help in there? We're going to be late," Pearl said.

"I can't find anything to wear! Come in here and help me!" Crystal said. Pearl opened the door and saw Crystal's room a mess with clothes everywhere.

"Jeez, woman! Just pick something, it doesn't matter what," Pearl said.

"Help me pick something!" Crystal exclaimed. Pearl sighed and walked over to the 4 choices Crystal has on her bed. She pointed to the 2nd outfit and picked it up. She held it up to her sister and told her to wear that one.

"Now hurry up, we'll be late," Pearl said, walking out the door.

"I'll be down in 5 minutes!" Crystal said, started to put the clothes on.
