Chapter 16: Back From the Grave

The next morning, an ambulance arrives at the Minthal house, asking for the Gemms sisters. Blake calls them down and they all come running down to see a doctor at the door. "I-Is this about our boyfriends? A-ARE THEY OKAY!?" Amy panics. The doctor sighs and motions for the girls to go with him. They agree and leave the house, thanking the boys for letting them stay the night.

Upon arriving at the hospital, 3 nurses lead each sister to their boyfriend's room. Parker lays in his bed resting. He's alive and Amy walks inside. She holds Parker's cold, still hand and cries. After a couple minutes of crying at his bedside, he walks up and looks over, seeing her crying. Parker lifts his hand and puts it on her head. She stops crying and looks up to see Parker smiling with tired eyes. She smiles back and leans over to kiss his head in relief he's okay.

Luke was awake when Crystal came in. When he saw her he spread out his arms and she came running. She climbed into the bed and hugged him dearly, crying on his shoulder. He assures her that he's alright and wipes away her tears. Crystals sits up and looks at his scars. They're stitched up and she starts to cry more. She said that they're sorry for dragging them into this mess. Luke looks at her confused as to why she said "we" and not "I." Was she referring to her and her sisters as one person? He smiled and didn't say anything, just wiped her tears and kissed her head.

Pearl walked into Adrian's room. He still hasn't woken up. She looks at his closed eyes, one has a scar from the first attack, the other as a bandage around it. She looks on his body and sees many bandages. "Why does he have so many bandages?" she asks the nurse.

"Well, ma'am, his attack was much more, um, brutal than the other boys. Mr. Willows has about 10-15 fresh stab wounds and just 6 scars from the first assault," the nurse stated. Pearl looked at his face and frowned. Suddenly, an alarm had gone off. Adrian's heart stopped. Pearl's eyes widened and she started crying. Another alarm had gone off, Parker fainted and his heart stopped as well. Then another alarm, Luke had a heart attack and his heart stopped. Doctors and nurses rushed the girls out of their rooms and dashed inside the boys' rooms to try and save them.

2 hours later the doctors returned to the girls with sad faces. They stood up and all doctors shook their heads. "I'm sorry ladies, but they're gone," one doctor said.

"W-What... no... NO! NO!!" Pearl screamed. She collapsed to the floor and cried her eyes out. Crystal and Amy hugged each other, crying their eyes out at well. They were allowed to see the bodies before they get the funeral set up. So each of them agreed to see them.

As they walked into the morgue to see them, they frowned and started crying some more. Pearl softly kissed Adrian's head and laid her head on his cold chest, crying. Crystal couldn't bear to see her dead boyfriend on the table and just stood there, crying with her hands over her eyes. Amy covered her mouth with tears running down her face as she holds out her hand and puts it over Parker's pale cheek. Once she touched him, she closed her eyes and cried more, keeping her hands in their positions.

Soon enough, the Minthal brothers came to pick them up and asked what happened. The girls stayed quiet in the lobby as the nurses explained everything. They took them to the house and had the girls stay over to keep them save from their exes and to comfort them after their losses that day.

A few days past, the girls were still at the Minthal house, still upset about their boyfriends dying. Blake was downstairs making lunch, Pearl was upstairs in Damian's room with him comforting her some more, Crystal was crying on Blake's bed, Amy was curled under the covers in Nathan's room with him trying to get her to get up. 30 minutes later the boys gathered in the living room to talk about them. "Guys, they won't come out. They haven't eaten, slept, showered, nothing," Blake said.

"Yeah, they need to get up. For one this isn't good for their health and for two they need each other right now," Damian said.

"I agree, they changed us and as quick as they changed us, they changed themselves. They do need to get up and do something," Nathan agreed. At that moment, they heard a knock at the door. Hoping it was the police or hospital, the girls all came dashing down the stairway, pushing the Minthals out of their way. Pearl opened the door and there was Mr. Minthal, their dad. The girls looked at him disappointed then slowly went back upstairs. Damian went up after Pearl and Nathan and Blake stayed.

"Why are they here? And what happened to them?" their dad asks.

"Their crazy ex boyfriends killed their boyfriends a few days ago in an attack," Blake said, "The exes escaped prison and are trying to take them again."

"Ah, so they're in trouble?"

"Yeah, pretty much. We're letting them stay here until their exes are caught, then we'll pay for a place for them on campus so they're safe. Because you'd need a student ID to enter the dorms," Nathan explained. Their dad nodded in approval and said that since so much is going on, whatever he came to say can wait. Blake and Nathan looked at each other and back at their dad. They nodded and their dad left.

An hour later, another knock came at the door. Once again, the girls came rushing downstairs. When Pearl opened the door, the Minthal boys and her sisters watching, a doctor and nurse were there. "W-Well!?" Pearl exclaimed panicked. The nurse looked scared.

"H-Howdid..." she started, "How did you know after a while... they'd come back to life...?"
