Smitty P.O.V

I kept my knees up to my chest and watched my tears streak down the white I was wearing. It left behind gray that dried to white again. I kept listening as John talked so sweetly to me. I answered every question and hung on every word. Even though it was slightly muffled, I could feel the heart behind his words. He was trying to keep me calm.

How sweet.

I sniffled softly and pulled my knees closer.

"You aren't scared, are you?" I heard his muffled voice penetrate through the walls.

I leaned over and beat my head on the wall once.

Goddamn that's a headache. At least it's padded. I have to hit pretty hard for John to hear.

For a second I thought he might have not heard me. But there was a small sigh of relief from the other side.

"John?" I asked the wall, leaning closer to be heard.

"Yeah Smit?"

"Are we really going to be okay?" My throat stung from the screaming I had let out before. John didn't answer me at first. I heard him take a deep breath before responding.

"I can't promise that bad things won't happen here, but I can assure you that I will do anything I can to keep you safe." I let out a sigh and curled up again. It was nice to have someone I could rely on. I always loved it when he said he would protect me. I knew he would never break his promise.

"Should we test that theory?" A huge voice came over the speakers I jumped up and pressed myself to the corner of the room.

Everything started to rumble, and the room began to change. Half of it slid out of the way to reveal a long hallway made out of glass. When the room stopped moving the speakers clicked to life again. "This is a test. I need to know more about the two of you. While I won't tell you what the test is over I will tell you this, you can't see each other and you can't hear each other. I need you two to work together to finish this test. Good luck!" The speakers shut off.

"A test?" I asked. I walked cautiously towards the secret hallway and as soon as I stepped foot in it a pair of metal hands came down from above and grabbed me. I yelped in surprise. The hands turned me over and untied my straight jacket, releasing me from its tight grip. They set me down and folded into the ceiling. "Uh, thank you?" I said quietly, rolling my wrists and shaking my body to wake up my numbed arms. I held my head for a second, an unbearable headache taking over from the questions John asked me.

I groaned and continued.

I walked down the hallway slowly. There was glass on the walls but on the ground was a nice white tiled floor. There were small lights in the ceiling that made glares on the window. I looked out and saw another hallway just like mine. In it a boy with fluffy hair crossed. "John!" I yelled out. He kept looking around the hallway until his eyes happened to fall on me. He pressed his body up to the glass and watched me. I could see his mouth moving but I couldn't hear anything he said.

I pointed to my ears and shrugged. He face palmed his head and pointed to his lips. I watched closely.

"What happened." At least I think that's what he said. I shrugged my shoulders bigger this time. "Are you Murray?" I made a weird face. Murray? He rolled his eyes and said it slower. "Are you okay?" Ohhhhh. I nodded my head and he let out a sigh of relief. I was about to ask him the same question when the building started to shake. Pieces of the ceiling started to fall all around me. I was frozen in place. When I looked cautiously over to John he was gone.

Then the floor fell from below my feet.
